TRAVELING JEWELRY SALES ASSOCIATE - SPECIAL EVENTS Zale Corporation is a leading specialty retailer of fine jewelry in North America, operating approximately 1,800 retail locations throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, as well as online. Position Overview: Regular schedule will consist of a 6-day work week with an average of 66 hours (including travel time) per week. You will be scheduled five to six (5 - 6) weeks on and then two (2) weeks off.
* Assist guests in the selection and sale of merchandise for Special Retail Events and assist with daily tasks associated with the event. Essential duties are: * Serve guests and promote the Special Retail Event sales: * Greet or acknowledge guests promptly. * Discuss present merchandise options to guests appropriate for their needs and interests. * Build and maintain professional knowledge: * Assist with inventory control: * Ensure inventory is secure at the close of each day of the event. * Assure inventory is secure while transporting to subsequent event. * Perform cycle counts and inventory scans based on corporate policy.
Job Requirements
Requirements: Three (3) years experience in a vendor or retail sales and service job requiring guest interaction either face-to-face; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Jewelry sales and/or candidates that are DCA or GIA Certified will be given preference.
* Possess good math skills (including calculating percentages). * Ability to comprehend operating instructions and procedure manuals. * Must be able to communicate effectively in one-on-one conversations with individual guests and employees of the organization. * Be able to apply common sense/understanding to carry out written or oral instructions. * Strong problem solving skills involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. * Familiar with basic computer operations sufficient to learn specific company requirements. * Must be able to use a diamond loupe to discern differences in quality of gemstones. * Must assist with lifting up to 70 pounds. Education:
* High School diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation:
* Draw versus commission.
