Area Sales Manager (Building Materials / Irrigation)
This person is responsible for Rain Bird Corporation's sales and market share growth with specific duties as follows:
Ability to analyze and dissect the market as it relates to market share, penetration and growth opportunities developing an annual strategic plan for accomplishing corporate objectives.
Successfully develop and implement local/regional programs in promoting Rain Bird turf products.
Ability to become a leader demonstrated by results and successful accomplishment in the account manager role leading to the potential for succeeding into a direct management role
Educate and influence the irrigation contractor on the value of Rain Bird’s turf products, their application and key benefits as it relates to product preference.
Participation and development of strategic contractor events, tradeshows and regional events.
Successfully develop and implement local/regional programs to promote Rain Bird turf products.
Develop and execute sales and educational efforts with the Distributor Manager, Contractor Rotor Account Managers, Area Specification Managers and key distributors to secure Rain Bird turf sales through the professional irrigation contractor.
Strive to differentiate Rain Bird from its competitors by providing superior customer service, high visibility and aggressive call coverage cycle.
Assist the Regional Manager and Product Managers in determining market needs.
Maintain and utilize contractor data base for direct marketing and communication efforts.
Grow sales faster than the market growth rate and achieve sales objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Undergraduate Degree preferably in Business, Engineering or Marketing.
8+years previous successful sales experience.
3 years minimum previous outside sales management experience-must have experience setting strategic direction for sales teams.
Driven, self starter wanting to lead a team and grow aggressively with the Rain Bird organization.
The successful candidate must live within the region.
Desired Qualifications:
Previous experience in the Turf irrigation industry with a knowledge of Turf products and applications, distribution channels and customers, the Rain Bird organization, Rain Bird products, competitors, etc.
Marketing experience.
MBA or other advanced degree.
Bilingual/Speaks Spanish
Other Information:
This position requires approximately 30-40% overnight travel.
