Our client in the Rochester, NY area has an immediate requirement for a Buyer, Information Technology. This is a contract position for 6 months. The selected candidate must possess at least five years of experience in the Information technology industry with project management experience to support the delivery of tactical objectives in the IT Global Sourcing and Procurement organization.
Responsible for the review of software license agreements, logging of contracts into an Ariba contract management system and execution of contracts established with suppliers including increasing levels of negotiation. Will perform purchase order changes, sourcing justification activities and creation of electronic RFQ's using Ariba eSourcing tool. Will work with project stakeholders to determine most desirable suppliers by evaluating supplier financials, quotes, capabilities and performance. Business presentation skills are essential to present sourcing decisions to review board. Will be expected to operate using fundamental sourcing concepts, practices and procedures. Must rely on industry experience, commodity knowledge, business skills and judgment to plan and accomplish purchasing goals and objectives. Candidates should be capable of working in a fast paced dynamic environment with an orientated toward completion of numerous short duration projects and tasks. BA or BS with related experience required. MS/MBA/CPM preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of purchasing experience, preferably in IT related services and commodities. Proven experience in RFI/RFP/RFQ development, creation, evaluation, and selection process. Experience with Ariba Spend and contract management system and Peoplesoft desirable. Exposure to software licensing, maintenance agreements, pricing models, and IT-specific terms and conditions related to Statements of Work/Services essential. Will need a strong understanding of legal issues and contractual principles used in the review of contracts and agreements. Ability to contribute to and participate on global multi functional teams. Proven capabilities in workload management, multi-tasking, interpersonal communications and problem solving are essential.
