As a New Business Development Rep for PR Newswire based in Chicago, IL, your mission is to find and close new business in your assigned territory with a hunter mentality and approach. Your success will be dependent upon your ability to prospect for business through networking events, referrals, cold-calling, and any other means necessary. Your polished written and verbal communication skills will be important when engaging prospects and effectively differentiating our client's services and value proposition from the competition. Daily responsibilities include performing cold calls to generate sales leads, qualifying your leads, generating sales letters, maintaining a sales database and creating a pipeline of prospects, developing sales proposals and making presentations to clients, performing follow-up calls to prospects, and negotiating and closing deals. Candidates must have a proven track record as a top sales performer, a high degree of initiative and self-motivation, and the ability to sell a service in both short and long sales cycles. Previous media sales experience is considered beneficial. This position offers an excellent starting base salary (not a draw), uncapped commissions, paid expenses, support staff, and a benefits package with a matching 401(k) plan. A college degree is required. Advertising agency, PR agency, interactive agency, or IR agency experience is also a plus.
