Director of Sales
Satcon Technology Corporation is in search of a Director of Sales for their Boston, MA area.
The Director of Eastern Area NA Sales will be responsible for the effective and profitable growth of overall sales and service business in Satcons Eastern Regional Areas, specifically, the Northeast, Southeast, and Canada regions encompassing the eastern half of the United States. The Directors role ensures properly selected, trained and developed staff is in place to achieve business objectives. Works with the inside sales managers and other members of the regional and/or Satcon team as assigned on a case by case basis to support the regional sales manager in those regions within their responsibility. Assist with presenting Satcons business to regional customers, review and submit sales contracts for approval. Direct and advise the distribution network in the region. The duties include but not limited to:

Develop and implement the strategy and tactics needed to grow existing accounts,
Target and win new customers and open new markets to achieve profitable growth targets
Actively promote Satcon products and services, contacting prospective customers, screening inquiries, interfacing with customer, preparing quotes and proposals, and following up ongoing projects
Ensure all bids and proposals meet project specifications; upon contract award ensure that project & operational staff meets customer satisfaction expectations
Provide accurate sales and revenue forecast
Budget and control expenses; track and report revenues and gross margin by product (in the future)
Oversee selection and business relationships with in-region partners/sub-contractors to ensure project quality, delivery and cost targets are met
Constantly monitor market environment and provide trend and other competitive data to Satcon product line management

Requirements
At least 3 years of sales experience in Power Electronics/PV industry
5 years plus of overall Sales experience
3-5 years of practical experience in managing technical and business aspects of selling PV/Power Electronic systems
Bachelors of Science with Electrical Engineering or equivalent (MBA preferred)
Ideal candidate will be a self-starter and have working knowledge of Solar PV market and applications along with effective interpersonal skills and leadership qualities, solid presentation skills, and excellent knowledge of sales techniques
Ability to determine a win strategy from a very complex set of inputs and translate this into clear, actionable direction to the sales team
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and effectively focus sales force on key opportunities, balancing short-term and long-term goals effectively
Must demonstrate ability to develop strong working relationships and to effectively deal with customers at all levels
The candidate must have demonstrated success at developing and building profitable indirect channel relationship
The candidate has demonstrated their ability to lead and motivate staffs, and channel partners
