POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Director, Partnership & Affiliates is a key member of the Guitar Center team and will be responsible for managing all aspects of our affiliate program including developing affiliate partnerships and managing the affiliate business development team.  You will continuously identify, evaluate and recruit new affiliates in order to increase distribution; as well as interface with internal marketing, business development and sales groups to develop, implement and support affiliate marketing strategies and programs.  Additionally, you will coordinate and oversee campaigns through all phases of launch and maintenance, including negotiation of affiliate partnerships and deals, contract review and approval, creative development, trafficking, reporting and analysis and optimization.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Maintain and grow our affiliate marketing programs.
  • Source, evaluate and recruit new affiliate partners.
  • Develop and implement strong international program.
  • Monitor affiliate practices and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain relationships with affiliates and other partners as well as motivate partners to improve campaign performance.
  • Negotiate and review affiliate advertising agreements (rates, placements, parameters, etc.)
  • Manage the creative development and execution to support the affiliate marketing effort, including collaborating with marketing team members on copywriting, art direction and creative.
  • Monitor tracking, delivery and campaign performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Generate campaign performance reports, provide performance analysis and execute on that analysis to ensure positive ROI.
  • Optimize buys, renegotiate rates, cancel or renew as necessary, as well as refresh and optimize creative units and media placements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
    5 – 7 years business experience.
  • 3-5 years directly related experience as an affiliate marketer.
  • Ability to manage and motivate business development team.
  • Experience negotiating, purchasing and managing a variety of online media campaigns (banners, emails, pops, contectual, etc.)
  • Experience with various deal structures including CPM, CPC, hybrid, etc. especially CPA.
  • Knowledge of the unique nuances and structural characteristics of online media campaigns.
  • Experience managing, optimizing and growing multiple direct response online media campaigns and partnerships.
  • Ability to compile and analyze performance data and metrics and make decisions regarding campaign direction based on your analysis.
  • Strong process and detail orientation with sound analytical skills.
  • Project management skills and prior experience managing campaign execution from planning through to implementation, measurement and analysis.
  • Understanding or previous experience with or similar CRM system.
