REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
IN ADDITION TO A MINIMUM OF 10+ YEARS IN AEROSPACE OR SPACE PROGRAM MANAGEMENT …. A MASTER’S DEGREE IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING, OR COMPARABLE, PLUS A MINIMUM OF 5 YRS. PRIOR MULTIPLE PROGRAM MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
· Strategic skill: In managing overall Aerospace/Space Programs, ensures that Program
Management translates product development strategy into practical program
implementation. Effectively drives/manages multiple priorities and projects. Drives creative
problem-solving and application of resources to root cause analysis and corrective action.
· Leadership: Builds and leads strong cross-functional teams. Possesses knowledge of/ability
to apply sound management practices. Makes timely, sound decisions, verified by results.
· Customer Focus: Builds rapport and forges strong working partnerships with external
customers and within the organization.
· Communication: Expresses him/herself well in groups, presentations and written
communications. Has charisma and presence. Ably resolves conflicts, and provides clear direction and information to members of program team.
· Results orientation: Works hard; is confident and energetic. Has drive needed to complete tasks and get results. Overcomes obstacles and resistance.

EXPERIENCE
Ten (10) plus years with at least five (5) in multiple programs management experience in the aerospace industry. Experience must also demonstrate:
· Experience effectively managing Program Managers.
· Effective results in multi-program schedule, cost,
risk management, and earned value reporting.
· Demonstrated personal as well as management
experience and skill in negotiating pricing and
contractual terms and conditions. This includes
fixed-price commercial and military contracts
and programs, and working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and related US Government contracting regulations. Experience with CPAF contracts desirable. Experience with NASA programs preferred.
· Strong technical background and understanding of
Aerospace/Space product development and
production requirements. High and/or low pressure ducting (composites) commercial product development experience helpful.
· Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel,
PowerPoint and Project.
JOB FUNCTION
Manages multiple Program Managers in Aerospace/Space components programs and projects to execute on-time design development and product delivery within budgets.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· As required/appropriate, may serve as primary
customer advocate/contact for assigned Aerospace/Space programs with respect to schedule, engineering development, and hardware/software deliverables.
Manages & oversees negotiation and co-ordination of customer orders, change requests, and RFPs (Request for Proposals).
· Has overall financial responsibility for company’s Aerospace/Space programs and projects.
Ensures that Program Management provides effective & timely cost/fiscal tracking and reporting to management (and customers, as required).
· Ensures that all Aerospace program activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, schedules and budgets, while minimizing risk to the Company.
· Drives, motivates and facilitates cross-functional teams to support and deliver on program
objectives. Leads effectively across organizational levels and boundaries. Delivers recommendations and proposals to senior management.
· Ensures proper management of all program communications and contract data submittals, including technical analyses and reports.
