Director, Specialty Market Development Lead, Integrated Desktop Solutions, McGraw-Hill Financial, S&P Capital IQ
The purpose of this role is to work as part of the McGraw-Hill Financial, S&P Capital IQ, Integrated Desktop Solutions (IDS), market segment leadership team to manage the development of one or more prioritized markets. The Market Development Team Lead will own and lead the commercial management cycle for the assigned segment. This position will work closely with senior management, our current and potential clients, global sales and support team, IT and other product managers to: (a) establish a strategic roadmap that is cohesive with the IDS content strategy; and (b) lead the identification and realization of market opportunities driving new and existing revenue.
Essential Accountabilities
Strategy & Planning (25%): Define and implement market development strategy to gain additional market share and generate revenue growth; clearly identify all necessary end user needs with operational support teams in order to uniquely position services within market; segment lead in planning strategic roadmap to maintain S&P Capital IQs leading position and define new opportunities
Team management (25%): Oversee market development team to ensure superior user experience is being provided to all clients and support the team in resolving day to day challenges; provide leadership, performance assessment and strategic management to team members; ensure segment strategy is being communicated to all team members as well as within the company as necessary
Client and market outreach (20%): Coordinate customer and market outreach activities; establish relationships with strategic market participants in order to position S&P Capital IQ services at the centre of the market; promote S&P Capital IQ image/services and support the development of targeted marketing campaigns and promotional events such as conference and seminars; clearly communicate new product developments to existing/prospective clients and market participants in general
Business development (20%): Lead/ support all business development opportunities within defined market segment; identify new alliances and partnerships that leverage S&P Capital IQs assets
Innovation and product development (10%): Work with clients, market participants and internal cross-functional teams (including Client Services, Sales, Marketing, Product Development) to establish segment strategy, vision and roadmap
12+ years experience and deep industry knowledge and/or knowledge of S&P businesses
Advanced degree, designation or relevant work experience
Experience leading and building teams
Has a global mindset and effectively collaborates across borders
Ability to influence and produce results
Ability to recruit, develop and motivate a team
Excellent external relationships with clients and/ or vendors in the relevant markets
Can identify, cultivate and maintain external strategic partnerships/ acquisitions
Can identify and help solve complex organizational issues
Can expand products/ services into other clients and markets
Can build and tap strong internal networks
