Director, Visual Merchandising
Summary:
The Director of Retail Visual Merchandising serves as a liaison between sales management, marketing and product management to provide key merchandising and in-store product marketing services necessary to support strategic corporate sales objectives. This individual will be responsible for identifying, validating, and prioritizing opportunities to improve the consumer experience and increase sales at retail across all product categories and all channels of Green Dot’s retail business. He/she will lead the development and commercialization of solutions to meet the business and consumer opportunities by providing strategic vision and execution.
Responsibilities:
· Focus on optimizing Green Dot’s in-store presence, positioning and display marketing within all retailers by partnering with sales and marketing on creative strategy and other growth initiatives
· Utilize available resources including industry reports, POS / Sales Data, and trade research to work with marketing to develop merchandising vehicles, trade and consumer communications, and other tools that will be utilized to drive sales, capture market share, and enhance corporate visual merchandising position in marketplace
· Create new product, product lineline product mix and category presentations for sales/account management
· Tracks product performance by retailer and channel and reports on volume, distribution, voids and recommends corrective programs as needed for sales/account management.
· Collaborates with project/product management and sales in development of product launch programs
· Develops and maintains understanding of competitive environment including key players, product segments, products, pricing, and marketing strategies
· Manage timelines to meet day-to-day business needs including all items associated with in-store presence initiatives. He/she will work with marketing/creative to deliver comprehensive tools necessary for the execution in the field of all solutions such as merchandising instructions, visual plan-o-gram creation and other merchandising elements
· Responsible for planning, measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the retail product selection, displays
Requirements:
· A Bachelor’s Degree in Business is preferred with an emphasis in Business or Marketing; an MBA is a plus
· Previous direct customer contact experience is essential
· 5+ Years full time work experience required with Marketing or Sales Merchandising experience in CPG industry a plus.
· Must be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong relationship management skills
· Consumer marketing background a plus
· Consulting, financial services or retail background preferred
· Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a results-oriented environment
· Desire to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial venture
· Detail-oriented with strong project management skills
· Ability to multi-task and work with various departments
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent computer skills – must be proficient in the MS platform of programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
