Field Sales Representative
Primary Purpose: The Sales Team serves as the front line, directly portraying the image of the organization to commercial and residential clients. The salesperson supports and guides the client through the process of discovering, browsing, selecting, purchasing, and purchasing our products. Through this process, the salesperson exerts diligence and care in making the best recommendations for the client. The salesperson aims to create and develop positive relationships with clients and within the organizations internal structure. Above and beyond these duties, the Outside Salesperson is the face of the company in the marketplace and among competitors. This requires a person internally motivated to drive revenue while his/her behavior supports the companys guiding principles. Essential Functions: The ideal candidate for this position must be able to fulfill these essential requirements: Be present for and participate in all sales meetings, unless otherwise excused by Sales Manager.. Communicate with fellow coworkers (salespeople, warehouse, administration, etc. on Oahu and Neighbor Islands) to ensure a positive work environment and excellent client service. Learn and become accustomed to the all-around knowledge of the company products and sales procedures. Assist in the development and implementation of new products and procedures. Regularly and consistently call on architects, designers, contractors, and subs to promote company products and services. Keep regular, consistent, and clear logs of all activities to support work product. Support and guide clients through the process of browsing, selecting, and purchasing products. Coordinate with warehouse staff and receptionist for scheduling of material viewing, selection, and pick-ups. Create, edit, and finalize estimates, sales orders, invoices, and credit/refund requests for clients following procedures and system requirements. Follow up on client estimates, sales orders, invoices, and phone/e-mail/fax messages in a timely manner. Follow through on the entire sales process and responsibilities. Ensure that clients sign all required documents and submit payment for their items prior to pick up, unless otherwise approved by the Sales Manager. Regularly review and collect on any outstanding invoices. Maintain cleanliness of personal and shared work areas, wiping down displays/counters when dirty and returning samples to the showroom or sample area. Attend professional development seminars and trainings, as scheduled. Participate in building, stone, and landscaping industry shows when requested to do so. Participate in the performance evaluation process for self and coworkers. Read, become familiar with, follow, and implement all policies, procedures, and guidelines communicated via employee handbook or via e-mail, bulletin postings, and handouts. Practice workplace safety. Business Development: Must be available and open to applying proactive sales strategies/activities to create new business as well as continue to nurture and grow existing relationships. Will work closely with the Sales Manager to create, explore, and participate in action plans for creating a consistent book of sales. An Outside sales person is a main driver for increasing the companys brand awareness. Working Conditions: Primarily indoors. Requires standing and walking in the showroom and warehouse and sitting at a computer. Requires daily driving to call on clients at their offices and jobsites. Equipment Used: Office machines and equipment, including multi-line phone system, typewriter, computer, phone, fax/copy machine, MAS, and Microsoft Office.
