is a leading online provider of Pre-Licensure and Continuing education for Mortgage Professionals. Out of over 200 education providers, we are 1 of only 4 who have nationwide presence, allowing us to compete for providing services to the largest companies in the industry.
Our product is required for any mortgage broker or loan officer to obtain a license and enter the industry as well as to renew their license each year. This means that every call is, to a certain extent, a "warm" sale. We are small from an employee standpoint (5 full time employees, including the CEO), though we contract a number of people for instruction, programming, operations and content development (another 12-15 people).
We are growing and obtaining success in the industry due to:
1) A large change in requirements in the industry that led to an 80% increase in the number of mortgage professionals who need education.
2) Market opportunities from providers who left the industry or have changed strategy because they only sell one product.
3) Our completion of developing a nationwide product; specifically, there are 17 states that have state-specific education. A provider who can supply the education for these states as well as the basic required education for all states can provide a unique offering for large companies. You will consistently hear the same two or three competitors every time you talk to a large company.
4) New opportunities. There is a demand for test-prep due to the need to pass a pre-licensure test. There are also certain organizations with previously unlicensed loan officers that may be required to have education.
We have more leads than our current salesforce can pursue and need one person at this time to assist in taking advantage of those opportunities. Because of our small size, you are able to call large companies in the industry and negotiate and settle deals on the phone.
This job is an inside sales job where you will work from home with occasional travel to conferences. There is some seasonality in the business where Q1 and Q2 are harder than Q3 and Q4.
We work on East Coast time, but you have complete flexibility to work after 5pm Eastern / 2pm Pacific to call on the West Coast.
Requirements:
Requirements ------------------------------------------- - You must be able to work from home - if you doubt this, then you will have a high likelihood of failure. You must be able to create a space of your own with a desk and quiet away from distractions. You must also be able to set a routine you can follow.
- Relationship sales and service technique and outstanding phone and email communication skills. Our culture is based around nurturing leads and not haggling for one-time sales. You will need to create strong relationships to ensure repeat sales.
- Commitment. Repeat business is the nature of this industry and building a base of customers for the first year or two is the key to your success. Conservatively, you will retain 50%+ of your initial years sales.
- Years of experience. Current successful representatives have had between 0 and 10 years sales experience.
