We are immediately seeking to hire a partner account manager to help recruit, manage, maintain and grow relationships between Novell and our partners within our fast-growing Software Appliance business. Novell is moving forward aggressively in the Software Appliance marketplace. This is a high-growth and cutting-edge area of the global software development landscape. Joining our team at this time will put you in a highly-visible, pivotal role within Novell and the intersection of our Independent Software Vendor (ISV) ecosystem and channel partners. If you are the right person for this role, you will provide crucial support to what we believe could be some of the most-dramatic and successful partnerships in the software industry over the next three to five years.

If you're looking for an opportunity to join a top-tier company and have an immediate impact on the organization and an entire marketplace, plus an opportunity for significant career advancement as we lead in new, exciting areas, then you should take a close look at Novell.

We are seeking a dynamic, high-energy manager with experience in either account management, business development or partner management. You will work with a cross-functional team with representatives from OEM sales, product marketing, product management and our ISV certification team as well as with business development or sales management at the partner.

As part of your role:
- You will manage and develop ISV partnerships soliciting ISV support for our SUSE Linux Enterprise platform and recruit ISVs to Novell's ground-breaking Software Appliance OEM program to build and execute joint plans that will help these partners reach revenue faster.
- Working closely with Novell's ISV marketing managers, you will build business plans jointly linked with demand generation activities that promote the partners' newly built appliances on the SUSE Linux Enterprise platform.
- You will need to utilize your account management and business development skills in creative ways to develop ideas that will accelerate revenue from these appliances through the most appropriate routes in Novell's and the partner's ecosystem.

Essential Functions
- Recruit ISVs into our Appliance program
- Research the ISVs business goals and work with the ISV to develop a customer and reseller profile for the Software Appliance.
- Analyze the market opportunity with the ISVs product and engage the partner in joint planning around the unique value proposition of their application on the SUSE Linux Enterprise platform.

Candidate Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree required. MBA strongly preferred.
- Account Management: Partner management and business development skills. Partner sales or OEM sales background is a plus (Note: this position is not commission-based!)
- Relationship Management: Proven skills in building strong, productive partnerships
- Communication: Professional communicator skilled in negotiations and motivating through influence, as well as in presenting to executive-level audience
- Teamwork: Strong ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
