As a Retail Sales Associate, you will become part of a dynamic selling environment and will be a critical link in ensuring that our customers have the type of shopping experience that will keep them coming back to Macy's time after time. Retail Sales Associate responsibilities include but are not limited to achieving personal hourly selling and loyalty program goals, demonstrating exceptional customer relationship skills, and working as part of a team to meet or exceed department and store objectives.
This Macy's location utilizes an innovative way of planning work schedules, allowing an associate to participate more in managing availability and setting preferences for work times. This enables our associates to address their need for flexibility in meeting both personal and work obligations. Details on 'My Schedule Plus' are available during the interview process.
Key Accountabilities:
Share knowledge of merchandise and store services with customers to build relationships and drive repeat business
Meet and exceed performance expectations, including personal and departmental sales, loyalty, and customer service goals
Maintain department sales floor and stock areas through consistent recovery and replenishment, including adherence to safety and loss prevention programs
In applicable departments, ensure that fitting rooms are ready for customers by promptly clearing out merchandise and returning it to the proper area of the selling floor
Other duties as required
Skills Summary:
Previous retail sales experience a plus, but not required
Goal-oriented with the desire to meet and exceed sales, loyalty, and customer service
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities and the needs of the business
Ability to multi-task, while remaining attentive to customers at all times
Ability to work as part of a team, but also willing to take initiative independent of direct supervision
Ability to handle physical requirements to accomplish daily responsibilities
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends and extended store hours
