Job Description:
Regional Sales Manager/Director - Fixed Income Regional Sales Desk

The Fixed Income Sales & Services Team (FIS&S) is part of the Investor Solutions group in Retail Distribution. The teams are comprised of highly skilled fixed income professionals who work in conjunction with TD AMERITRADE's Retail Distribution channels, including: the Branch, National Branch and Investor Services' Investment Consultants (ICs) to service and deepen relationships with high asset clients and prospects who have fixed income needs.
Role:
The Regional Sales Manager/Director is a highly motivated and seasoned professional with management experience growing and developing a successful sales team, superior knowledge of fixed income products and strategies and a proven track record of consistently exceeding sales team targets. The Manager's/Director's primary role will be to grow and develop a newly formed Regional Bond Desk by establishing strong partnerships with Regional Branch Managers and National Branch and Investor Services leaders, providing strategic guidance and goal setting for Regional Bond Specialists and managing all results to TD AMERITRADE's fixed income goals. Secondarily, the Manager/Director will also play a strategic production role for existing and prospective clients who have sophisticated and complex fixed income needs.
Responsibilities:

* Oversight of all sales activities of assigned Regional Fixed Income IC's.
* Implement business plans to ensure achievement of business goals.
* Create a strategy to achieve goals with strategic Branch partners.
* Ensure an environment that encourages, supports and provides the resources for associate development and motivation.
* Develop and establish goals for assigned branches in conjunction with senior management.
* Prepare annual performance plans and reviews on a timely basis and coach reps for optimal performance.
* Develop action plans and monitor results to determine if specific targets and measures are achieved.
* Hire, train, lead and develop a world-class sales force.
* Coach all members of team so they are able to reach their full potential and become consistent performers.
* Assess associate performance and regularly communicate performance results to staff and management.
* Determine and implement adjustments needed to meet and/or exceed annual goals.
* Develop and maintain best practice procedures.
* Complete necessary reports on a timely basis.
* Take part in on-site and off-site meetings and conference calls, circulate meeting notes and coordinate completion of follow-up items.
* Resolve escalated client requests or issues.
* Build long-term relationships with Regional Managers and High Net-Worth Investors.
* Work with Branches to identify fixed income business with current clients.
* Educate Branches and clients on fixed income products and strategies.
* Strengthen client relationships and expand existing clients' share-of-wallet through proactive outbound calls.
* Discuss potential risks and benefits in using particular products or strategies.
* Analyze current client or potential client portfolios and make appropriate recommendations.
* Profile and accurately record client data and information that can be used to further develop clients.
* Provide high quality service and value to clients to attract and retain assets and accounts.
* Work with clients to design and implement fixed income strategies.
* Research developments in the bond market and associated financial markets to provide our ICs and clients with educated and accurate explanations and advice.
* Assist clients with year-end tax swaps.
* Execute all fixed income trades in an accurate and timely manner.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures with Regional sales team members.
Experience:
Requirements:

* FINRA Series 7, 63, 24 (or 9/10) & 53 required or must attain w/in 6 months
* Advanced degree, CFA preferred
* 10+ years experience in fixed income sales and trading preferred
* 5+ years of sales management experience preferred
* Must have extensive knowledge of the securities industry, portfolio management theory, economic and business cycles, and all types of fixed income products and strategies.
* Solid understanding of fixed income markets and trends
* Ability to understand and communicate complicated fixed income investment concepts in a clear and concise manner.
* Understanding of current regulatory requirements related to fixed income.
* Demonstrated success in sales management and achievement in the financial industry
* Successful experience in growing a territory.
* Proven ability to develop strong relationships with prospects and clients.
* Aptitude to identify strategic solutions to business problems.
* Strong analytical skills and initiative, with a degree of organizational and presentation skills.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong computer skills
* Proficient with Bloomberg
* Travel required
