Marketing Category Director - Outdoor (Sports Marketing/Retail)
The Marketing Category Director leads the development of all Marketing plans related to their categories of responsibility. Specific duties include the creation of category specific and customer focused Marketing programs that amount to over $10M to $30M in spend and support over $500M to $1.3B in sales. Additionally, this position acts as the primary liaison between Marketing and Merchandising with the responsibility of creating clear and concise direction and goals for each project.
Leads the development and strategic direction of all Marketing programs within their specific category POD. Directs and spearheads the creation of all promotional marketing campaigns within the POD ($500M - $1.3B in annual sales).
Allocates the Marketing spend ($10M - $30M) across all Marketing channels (Direct Mail, Tabs, ROPs, Email, TV, Radio, Catalogs, Digital, etc) with the goal of delivering powerful Marketing campaigns that support sales, margin and turn goals while driving a higher ROI.
Leads the integration of Vendor Marketing initiatives to ensure cohesive campains that align with the overall POD plan while maximizing our vendors' finanacial contributions.
Partners with the Marketing Analytics / Research group to develop more strategic plans based on customer trends, research, insights and past results.
