Our company is seeking a Merchandise Marketing Intern. This person will be responsible for effectively marketing and promoting our web sites and team stores, as well as helping brand our department to outside sources. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a diverse, high volume, and fast paced environment. This position reports directly to the Director of Merchandise.
This position will involve building and execution of brand marketing plans. Assist Merchandise teams in brand marketing, press needs and media outreach. Promote brands and teams online via e-burst campaigns as well as social network based venues; Face book, MySpace, Twitter and Google Keyword campaigns. Work with Merchandise teams and department in coordinating all marketing needs.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in execution of promoting through social networks via online, text message and new media marketing initiatives. Present a presentation based upon what you have learned from the experience and provide recommendations to improve Help create internal / external web/email producers to effectively promote sales and marketing content on Merchandise outlets and email as well as print ads. Assist Merchandise teams to fulfill all obligations involving media/promotional activation in the market-place. Assist in the creation and implementation of promotions with radio stations and other media outlets. Creatively find ways to boost Merchandise site traffic and increase user activity. Assist in the execution of media schedules with blogging, Print ads, and other media Responsible for trafficking of media spots/ads.
SKILLS and REQUIREMENTS:
Be enrolled as a full time student at an accredited college or university Have a GPA of 3.0 or better Receive class credit for the Internship experience Be able to work up to 20 hours per week Exhibits a Positive, can-do attitude. Passion for marketing/promoting sports teams and entertainment strongly preferred. Knowledge of professional sports leagues preferred. Must be self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be a very creative person with an outgoing personality. Must have a high degree of poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts. Ability to prioritize workload and solve problems quickly. Must be able to assist individuals of various levels with needs and problems and react to difficult situations appropriately. Ability to work as part of a team environment. Fluent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Mac/PC design software. Photoshop, Flash, HTML, web/media technology a plus.
