National Sales Director

The position of National Sales Director is responsible for leading a group of Sales Executives  to meet or exceed company goals for profitable revenue growth within the Sales Executives' assigned business territories. The National Sales Director will provide management direction for the Sales Executives assigned to his or her team, and will manage relationships with other staff functions to ensure appropriate resources are available and focused to support selling objectives.

Responsibilities



  • Lead a group of sales executives to meet or exceed company goals for profitable revenue growth.
  • Develop actionable and measurable tactical plans for the Sales Executives to proactively pursue each client or prospective client.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective business relationships with executive decision makers in large accounts.
  • Pursue identified business prospects, participating actively in the planning and sales process for new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing resources and VP of Business Development to define overall sales strategy, and to develop products and solutions responsive to the customer's business. Apply research insights and to provide compelling advertising solutions based on the company's business strengths.
  • Travel to different territories and go on sales calls with Sales Executives
  • Compile and execute sales strategies with the sales force.
  • Review quarterly strategic goals with Sales Executives and assist with achieving the goals established for the specific period.
  • Employ and teach a consultative selling process that overcomes objections and indifference and connects "need" with the client's solutions.
  • Implement the company's sales process to establish a culture of consultative selling to customer's decision-makers at all levels.
  • Coach Sales Executives to build effective staff relationships that enable them to respond quickly to emerging customer opportunities, and provide for seamless execution of the company's business processes that exceed customer expectations.
  • Maintain a competitive edge by keeping abreast of competition, competitive issues, products and markets for airless and atmospheric dispensing systems and jars.
  • Attend trade shows
  • Entertain customers, such as lunches and dinners, on a regular basis and within expense budget. .
  • Interview and hire highly energized Sales Executives when applicable.
  • Evaluate Sales Executives at least twice a year.
  • Review territory A, B, C ratings at least once a year.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or required to maintain and grow profitable business within the assigned account base.

Requirements

  • High level of financial and business acumen
  • Staff consulting and relationship building skills
  • Ability to use technology and analysis tools (Sales Force and other applicable applications)
  • Executive presence to influence senior decision-makers
  • Knowledge of cosmetic industry
  • Minimum of ten years of business to business sales experience is required, with at least five years of sales management experience for global, national, or key strategic account business.
  • An MBA or Bachelor's degree in business marketing, economics or related field is required.
