National Sales Manager

National Sales Manager Line Pipe - Houston, TX - $150K - $165K+++


State of the art US steel mill needs an experienced management professional to direct sales of large OD line pipe throughout North America by penetrating end-user market and actively soliciting inquiries accounts at all levels--i.e.-Purchasing, Engineering, QA Design, Etc.  Based in Houston, Texas, the National Sales Manager will ensure that the company is an approved vendor and consistently participates in RFQ's; be well versed in all of company's mill capabilities, mill schedules, bookings, and price levels; stay current in market intelligence competitor information; represent company at local industry functions and coordinate sales efforts with company objectives by building an outstanding sales organization of true professionals.


The ideal candidate must:



  • Have at least 5 to 10 years of current line pipe sales & sales management experience

  • Have an existing client base of oil & gas pipeline companies, line pipe distributors and pipeline engineering & construction firms.

  • Know the competitors and their capabilities-i.e. - mill locations, production process, diameter range, grade capability, maximum lengths, coating capabilities, transportation methods, etc.

  • Understand alternative markets, such as the water market and/or piling market in effort to optimize tonnage on the mill.

  • Be willing to travel 50%
