Please read more about us at . Position Summary: The Assistant Store Manager has a responsibility to sell to and provide exceptional service our friends. Additional responsibilities include leading the entire store team as a role model and to hold associates accountable for meeting and exceeding customer service standards. The Assistant Store Manager must participate in daily store operations and have the ability to perform all management functions in the absence of the Store Manager. Selling with CARE Responsibilities * Provide excellent CARE service both on sales floor and in fitting room * Knowledgeable in business acumen and communicates daily goals to store associates * Works as a member of the store team to increase sales and meet sales goals * Implement all company/region initiatives in partnership with store manager * Product knowledge of all new merchandise * Ensure that all corporate office memos and instructions are read, executed and filed within the given time frame Leadership Responsibilities * Makes management decisions, performs all management duties and day to day store operations in cooperation with and in the absence of the store manager * Assist the store manager in upholding company visual presentation standards per VMU & VPG expectations including store standards * Adhere to all company policies, procedures and code of conduct and ensure they are communicated and implemented within the entire store team * Assist store manager in proper training of associates in selling techniques, POS procedures, visual standards, sale set-ups, store maintenance and marketing programs * Hold Associates accountable for delivering performance expectations and following all policies and procedures * Ensure all company loss prevention policies and procedures are followed * Set examples in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skill, and work habits Qualifications * 2 years work experience with at least 1 year in retail and preferred 1 year supervisory capacity * High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred * Basic understanding of retail math * Strong problem solving skills and ability to make decisions in the best interest of the business * Excellent knowledge of retail selling skills and strong sales ability * Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time * Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening and * Ability to stand for entire shift, lift 30 lbs and use equipment such as hammers, ladders and merchandising hardware Job Location Horseheads, NY, US.
