We're looking for a savvy Account Director to lead our high-functioning group, whose focus is breaking through with Microsoft’s industry partner and developer communities. S/he needs to love working within a high-energy, high-caliber group environment. S/he is energized by on-the-go brainstorming and problem solving, gets a thrill converting great ideas into great results, and appreciates the value of balancing hard work with FUN on the job. For this job, you’ll need to be able to: • Identify, build, maintain and grow relationships with influencers who matter in the mobile industry. Pitch stories. Influence coverage. Pass on your knowledge to others. • Grow and maintain client relationships by providing strategic and tactical counsel in direct partnership with them. Solve problems. Do epic stuff. • Have an impact on agency business and culture. Improve the team and be a leader. • Understand how influence works around the world, and create new ways of capitalizing on it – over the air, over the web, over oceans. • Manage, motivate, and/or mentor people and bring new talent on board.
You will also: • Detect and mitigate possible issues, conflicts and disruptions in the business. • Conceive and tell strategic stories apart from client business milestones. • Solicit feedback from influentials regarding their perception of your client/s, their competition and their position in the industry. Use this to inform actions. • Assure internal and external stakeholders are aligned. • Manage and negotiate scope of work and make recommendations. • Drive the strategic communication planning process. • Oversee team financial and resource management issues and track team utilization. • Assess and qualify new and organic growth opportunities. • Contribute to agency strategic planning initiatives. Educate and oversee team on cross-agency activity. • Oversee resource allocation across team including staffing/hiring new talent.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required and Master’s degree preferred in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field. • At least 7 years of experience in PR – in an agency and/or within applicable industry. 8-10 years preferred. • Minimum of 4 years individual and team management experience, including experience developing a team. • Minimum of 4 years PR management, crisis management, and execution experience. • New business development experience required.
