Principal Consultant

McDermott & Bull Executive Search () is looking for Principal Search Consultants to join our firm.  Ideal candidates will have been senior executives who have worked at the senior director level or above in Fortune 1000 companies OR experienced executive search professionals to join our growing organization.

Candidates without search experience will have 15+ years of intimate involvement working with or at the C-level and have a thorough understanding of how companies function and how the various roles both interface and support the overall growth of an organization.

We are offering an opportunity to leverage your experience and knowledge in a business development role within our firm as a Principal Search Consultant.  Principal Search Consultants identify and create relationships with companies at a senior executive level and assist them in building a world class executive management team.  While you have ultimate authority over which candidates are presented to your clients, those candidates are sourced by an internal recruiting and fulfillment team that partners with you.  This allows your focus to remain on serving current clients without impacting your new business development efforts. 

While there is no “typical” background for a McDermott & Bull Principal Search Consultant, there are some experiences that potentially make executives a fit for retained executive search, such as:

• Having an aptitude for sales and an affinity towards building a network and selling services through those relationships.


• Having been a senior executive and can provide counsel and guidance to peers as a consultant. 


• Having had experience with retained executive search as a client or candidate of the service.


• Having hired people in previous careers, preferably senior and mid-level executives.
