Position Description
Based in the California region, this position will manage the achievement of regional sales revenue targets, resource allocation, expense budgets and field personnel for Medtronic Navigation products and services that support Medtronic Navigation Sales and Marketing objectives. Provides leadership to Account Managers through on-going talent development initiatives, activities and coaching.
Position Responsibilities
Utilize field visits and individual or group meetings and telephone contacts to: Train and develop employees in sales skills, product knowledge, teamwork, time and territory management, competitive knowledge, and career development. Coordinate sales efforts. Communicate corporate, divisional, regional mission, goals and activities. Direct and motivate personnel to achieve sales revenue targets. Provide ongoing feedback/coaching and regularly schedule performance reviews. Implement corrective actions where necessary through the Medtronic Performance Management process. Develop and implement a written district strategic business plan and individual territory business plans to achieve short and long term business objectives Provide overall management of regional assets including, Develop and manage accurate quarterly and annual forecasts. Manage regional travel expenses and budgets. Ensuring efficient, effective use of inventory, resource allocation and expenses. Implement national product and service contract pricing strategies. Manage regional customer product and service quotes in conjunction with Pricing Manager and Director US Sales. Develop ethical, long-term customer relationships that support long-term relationships between Medtronic Navigation and our key customers. Recruit and develop top talent for key positions within the region. Provide appropriate training and mentoring to support individual employee development. Effectively utilize VIP and Customer Education Programs to secure existing business, increase breadth and penetration with current customers and covert competitive accounts. Balance sector programs and promotions, new product launches and service contracts to effectively meet business objectives and sales targets. Support corporate and intra-divisional objectives to achieve greater market penetration. Effectively communicate competitive market activity and provide open, candid feedback to Marketing, Sales and Product Development Management. Effectively communicate across business function with respected counterparts (ie. Spine, ENT, Neuro District Managers)
Basic Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIRED B.A./B.S. degree life sciences, business, technical discipline or related area.
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE 5+ years of successful medical device and/or capitol sales experience
Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Direct people management experience. Knowledge of spine, cranial, orthopedic and neurological physician and hospital markets. Additional experience in marketing, training, technical services or related areas.
