Sales Manager
Responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned region. Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company key priorities, vision and values. Implements approved plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the market area and contributes to the development and training of Field or Inside Sales Representatives.
Position Responsibilities: Implements company sales strategies within the assigned region that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Implements company personnel development strategies within the assigned region that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding sales performance, market conditions, competition, impediments or drivers of maximum team performance. Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team. Demonstrates ability to interact, cooperate and collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, training, product development, business systems and all company employees. Maintains contact with clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction. Staff all assigned territories in his/her region with qualified personnel so that no territories are vacant for more than 30 days; submit hiring and ad requests, screen candidates, interview and arrange internal (second opinion) interviews for those candidates deemed qualified for hire. Submit names of finalist(s) to HR for background check and to Director of Sales and Operations for final approval. Upon final approval inform HR to complete final hiring activities. Upon hire, conduct all required new hire set-up and training requests and monitor to ensure completion. Train new and existing FSRs/TSRs in department policies, procedures, sales best practices including use of SFA (sales force automation), sales skills, territory and time management. Ensure continuous training and development of all team FSRs/TSRs in products, SFA and other business tools, sales skills, etc. Establish sales objectives for team and individuals based on company key priorities, department objectives and individual FSR/TSR sales run rates. Monitor performance against goals on a daily basis and adjust as needed to achieve goals. Analyze individual FSR/TSR performance in all areas and provide coaching to improve where needed. Provide regular feedback to individual FSRs/TSRs on all aspects of job performance. Conduct annual and mid-year RPM activities. Conduct regular (weekly) team meeting to review performance, goals, etc., and conduct training/development sessions. Conduct required department KPI analysis and reporting, monitor sales activities, create and maintain records including corrective actions for under-performing individuals. Conduct normal day-to-day admin and inter-department activities.
Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in sales/sales management. Bachelors Degree (or equivalent work experience) business, marketing, sales or related field of study. Experience with enterprise solutions software. Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements (market specific training provided). Willingness to travel within specified region and work with a team of professionals. Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams. Strong communication skills
