REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: The Chief Executive Officer will report directly to the Board of Directors, and is responsible for all operational aspects of the Company with particular emphasis on sales growth.
COMPANY BACKGROUND: Copytalk is the leading provider of mobile documentation services, trusted by many of the largest and most prominent financial services and insurance companies in the world. The company was created in response to a growing need by mobile professionals for a productivity tool that enabled them to accurately and efficiently document meeting notes, draft letters, create to-do lists, and capture other important business information – using any phone and without having to purchase or install any new equipment.
By combining two existing methods of communication, e-mail and the telephone, into one simple application, a comprehensive solution was born. Professionals on the go with limited time are able to increase productivity and their bottom lines, while maximizing important relationships with clients and staff and assuring compliance with company operating guidelines. Copytalk is committed to helping our individual and corporate clients build their businesses.
THE OPPORTUNITY: Provide the direction to position Copytalk as the current and future high margin, value-added leader in mobile transcription for the insurance and financial service industries, as well as develop and execute strategic plans to extend the company’s reach into new markets. Develop a strategic plan to advance the company's mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization. Oversee company operations to insure quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources, with a primary focus on sales.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Chief Executive Officer will be a proven sales/marketing leader able to deliver on the potential for building a brand name and position Copytalk as the industry leader for the transcription marketplace, particularly for financial services and insurance companies. The major responsibilities of the CEO will be to execute in the following areas:
Sales, Marketing and Public Relations:
Develop sales staff to effectively penetrate deeper into customer accounts
Develop and implement a dynamic sales training program
Efficiently grow sales in the current vertical with inside and outside sales staff
Manage inside and outside efforts to promote the company’s products and services to relevant channels, client organizations and existing customers
Organize a social media and online presence to promote the company.
Oversee content, production and distribution of all marketing and publicity materials (posters, programs, flyers, mail outs, brochures, e-mail campaigns, newsletters, surveys, etc) with internal and external resources
Manage press development and analyst coverage
Strategically develop and coordinate potential future promoters and supporters of the company
Insurance, Broker Dealer, Financial Services Community Relationships
Serve as the primary spokesperson and representative for the organization to this community
Assure that the organization and its mission, programs, and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant customers
Act as a liaison between Copytalk and the community, building relationships with peer industry organizations, associations and conferences when appropriate
Planning
Create annual operating plans that support strategic direction set by the board and correlate with annual operating budgets; submit annual plans to the board for approval
Collaborate with the board to define and articulate the organization’s vision and to develop strategies for achieving that vision
Develop and monitor strategies for ensuring the long-term financial viability of the organization
Develops future leadership within the organization
Product Development
Oversee design, delivery, and quality of product roadmap
Stay abreast of current trends related to the market for its products and services and anticipates future trends likely to have an impact on Copytalk’s product
Identify market opportunities for product improvement and growth in customer offerings
Collect, analyze, and evaluate information that measures the success of the Copytalk’s program efforts; refine or change product roadmap in response to that information
Operational Management
Promote a culture that reflects the organization’s values, encourages good performance, and rewards productivity
Oversee the operations of the organization and manage its compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Ensure that staff and board have sufficient and up-to-date information
Evaluate the organization’s and the staff’s performance on a regular basis
Financial Management
Oversee staff in developing annual budgets that support operating plans and submit budgets for board approval
Prudently manage the organization's resources within budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations
Ensure that staff practices all appropriate accounting procedures in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current market conditions with the Board’s approval
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: The Chief Executive Officer will have significant experience in the financial services sales arena (5-7 years minimum), with specific knowledge of the insurance, mutual fund, and broker-dealer distribution and sales channels. The ideal candidate will have both internal and wholesale experience, with 5 or more years of sales management experience in this field. Additionally, the CEO should have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
An MBA or equivalent would be a plus
Former CEO/COO experience
Proven sales experience is a must
Demonstrable sales management experience required
An ability to motivate an organization, and particularly a sales group, to set and exceed goals
Product marketing and management experience a plus
Proven history of success attaining corporate financial goals

Demonstrated experience in growing a sales team to address the financial services market segment, preferably as the leader or CEO
Process-driven executive capable of assessing customers, market, technology, and team, with a view to developing an overall growth plan with buy-in from board, CEO directs, and key team members
Leadership, judgment and teamwork – able to quickly and credibly integrate into Copytalk at all levels
Proven experience identifying, building and managing strategic partners
Demonstrated track record of delivering sales plans and growth initiatives in both high growth and developed market companies
Demonstrated track record for building and leading strong teams which operate effectively and deliver on commitments and goals at all levels of the company, the market, and customers
Leadership qualities capable of motivating for over-performance
Orator, visionary, manager and executive who delivers on his/her commitments to achieve results for customers, investors, and employees
