Join the industry leader in Automotive Digital Marketing Solutions & Media Solutions to help define, analyze, and build our Search Engine Optimization strategy and service offering. You will be managing key project initiatives that enhance the existing product set while launching new SEO-driven products. The SEO Product Manager must have the ability to get inside consumer’s heads, understanding end user behavior and developing products to meet their needs and requirements. A SEO Product Manager on our team will need to be collaborative and able to synthesize product requirements and work cross functionally to deliver data driven products quickly.

The SEO Product Manager will play an integral role in many areas of Cobalt’s natural Search Engine Optimization (SEO) practice, including link development, on-site optimization, research & reporting. The SEO Product Manager is responsible for defining Cobalt’s SEO product offering and driving the SEO product roadmap by gathering and prioritizing product requirements, creating product specification documents based on quantitative analysis, financial analysis, and search engine principles. Additionally, the SEO Product Manager will working closely with software development and content teams to launch initiatives.

 

The SEO Product Manager role will have experience in product development, with at least 5 years in the online space. You'll be online savvy with a strong understanding of internet trends and developments. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has a passion and genuine curiosity for the practice of search engine optimization. The person in this role will be expected to contribute new ideas and strategies to keep the program on the cutting edge in this rapidly evolving medium.

In addition to being a professional in the Product Management organization, the Product Manager partners closely with Services team to ensure the highest quality service offering for Cobalt’s 9000+ automotive dealers.

Essential Functions:

·        Experience working in SEO – either at an agency, or as part of an in-house SEO practice

·        In depth understanding of how to best align on-page and on-site components with keyword volume and other variables to maximize impact

·        Familiarity with the role in-bound links play in search rank and specific ideas for how companies can encourage organic, targeted linking from among their loyal customers and other groups

·        Inquisitive minded with experience applying disciplined testing and learning to identify opportunities

·        Up to date understanding of search engine ranking signals and firm ideas about their likely evolution

·        Discipline to work independently with a keen attention to detail and ability to meet established deadlines

·        Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

·        Define and champion the SEO strategy and roadmap

·        Identify product features and enhancements and manage their entire lifecycle from idea conception to post-launch monitoring and improvements

·        Work closely with Digital Marketing Team and Services Product Manager, SEO Specialists, Content team, and other product managers to define the scope of the SEO offering

·        Create sound business cases through relevant research and analyses

·        Proactively conceive, document and drive the creation of new SEO features and content based on market research, competitive analysis, understanding of the market, customer feedback and feedback from our sales and support departments

·        Define and write product requirement documents for use by development & QA

·        Act as a leader product champion for your products within the company

·        Analyze reporting and ‘web analytics’ to come up with ways to search engine optimize all aspects of existing Cobalt products

·        Internal Launch Management - Coordination of all activities required to prepare the product for launch including launch plan; interaction across the organization to ensure availability of resources and materials on-plan (includes product testing, operational and support preparedness and support of market launch). Define and manage the pilot customer test plan where applicable.

·        Product Performance / Operational Metrics / Competitiveness - Monitor and analyze how well the product is performing including product profitability, actual to planned revenue, customer satisfaction and market share. Look at internal measurements to determine how the product impacts the company operations and service areas. Identify competitive offerings in the market assessing their strengths and weaknesses. Evaluate the presence and relative importance of key product capabilities.

 

Qualifications Required
(Experience, Skills, Academic):

·        Familiarity with HTML – ability to read and interpret Web page source code

·        Proficiency working in Microsoft Excel to manipulate data to reveal actionable insights

·        Exceptional analytical, planning and project management skills. Strong spreadsheet, word processing and database skills.

·        Outstanding verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, matrixed environment

·        Exceptional attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven atmosphere.

·        7-9 years of industry product management experience with 5 years of online product management in online business

·        Able to express and evaluate ideas with quantitative and qualitative data

·        Team player who can collaborate and build consensus within cross-functional areas

·        A deep passion for technology and customers

·        A BA/BS in a business or technical field; an MS in a technical field or an MBA a major plus

·        Experience in Automotive vertical a plus
