Responsibilities - Perform a variety of tasks around system design, implementation, integration and optimization within tools that support Advisors. - Utilize system expertise and knowledge of applications to work across the firm with architecture, business analysts, DBAs and infrastructure to evaluate business needs. Design and manage end-to-end technical solutions from an application perspective. - Ensure the quality of software by setting and enforcing those metrics through code review. - Ensures the smooth transition of environment changes into production. - Provide first response support on all critical business events, as key resource in the newly formed Focus Support Model - For production support, oversees the problem management process from a technical perspective and serves as a consultant to the vendor(s) for business critical issues.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 3+ years of experience with consistently increasing responsibilities in software architecture, development, testing, integration, and implementation. - 3+ years of cummlative technical experience across a majority of the following:
Web application development (Java / JEE) Software engineering Software testing Data analysis Software performance monitoring High Availability Software Architecture Interface Design (SOAP/XML)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience based knowledge in the following areas; - Networking - Operating Systems (Linux, AIX, Solaris, Windows) - Storage (SVC SAN) - Database (UDB, SQLServer, Oracle) - Mainframe - Software and performance monitoring tools (HP Diagnostic Software) - Websphere - MQ - Ameriprise Technical Standards and Methodologies - Anticipate and promote technical uplift initiatives (upgrade, re-platform, etc.) - Ability to isolate key issues, identify root causes, and rapidly develop solutions. - Superior communication skills, particularly for communicating low-level designs and quality expectations to developers. - Self-starter with an ability to lead others without a direct line of authority.
