VP Business Development, Partnerships secures new business partnerships among qualified Financial Services Companies, Professional Organizations and large Associations. The SVP Business Development reports directly to the EVP, Partnership Marketing and Business Development.

Our growth and success warrant hiring a senior level, results-oriented business development leader who would join our team of experts to accelerate growth in our core segments. Today, as the 8th largest insurance broker in the country, USI Affinity has grown to become one of the nation's premier distributors of insurance and financial products through our partner programs.

USI Affinity is a division of USI and is a portfolio company of Goldman Sachs Capital Partners. We are a $70 million dollar revenue organization and one of the largest writers of Lawyers Professional Liability in the United States. USI Affinity is headquartered in Philadelphia, PA with divisions in New York, Columbus, OH, and Walnut Creek, CA. In addition, we market and administer employee benefits, life, disability, long term care and personal and commercial lines products via affinity partner channels.

Key Focus Areas:

Business Development

  • Leads the company’s Financial Services, Professional Organization and Association new business development efforts. Responsibilities include evaluating the marketplace, identifying specific partner opportunities and leading the market selection process.
  • Identifies B2B affinity partnership opportunities and quickly creates a robust, high-quality business development pipeline.
  • Within our key segments establish a productive format & process providing metrics, targets and accountability for each member of the business development team.
  • Compensation will be linked to closing new business opportunities.
  • Creates a seamless hand off of signed opportunities to a team of talented, experienced account managers with industry-specific specialization.

Program Development

  • Acts as the key USI Affinity conduit for marketplace/customer/partner feedback to the management team; as well as market intelligence and product/performance information.

National Leadership

  • The VP Business Development brings accomplishments, enthusiasm, results-orientation, innovative ideas and a high sense of urgency.
  • The VP also plays a key internal recruitment role for new hires across the organization.
  • Ensures that all activities are performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations.
  • Strikes an effective balance between long term vision and day-to-day activities.
  • Directs the development and installation of procedures and controls, to promote communication and adequate information flow. Understands and facilitates communication among/between different teams and groups across USI.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Ten to fifteen years in business in one or more of USI core markets: Financial Services, Professional Organizations and Association segments.
  • Success in sourcing new business opportunities for insurance carriers and brokers is a plus.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Success operating in a matrix environment.
  • Has demonstrated exceptional ability to motivate, lead and influence.
  • Strong talent manager.
  • Sound financial management skills.
