Position:
Our client continues to develop and is looking for people to join their team and contribute to shaping and achieving the company’s picture of success. They are seeking a positive professional to engage a sales leader to assume the role of Director/VP of Sales. The chosen candidate will be responsible for revenue generation as well as the hiring, development, mentoring and leadership of the company’s East Coast sales efforts. You must be a creative and strategic thinker who wants to deliver peak performance. You will be recognized as a capable change agent, articulate and passionate about social media, who will be responsible for helping to build the sales culture of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Define category creation in an enormous market with huge spend potential
Responsible for leading the sales and revenue generation discipline
Must be adaptable as dynamics around the role and responsibility within the organization change
Articulate and help to evolve positioning, sales marketing and go to market strategy
Must have the ability to leverage contacts with corporate marketers and at senior levels of ad agencies to help the team effectively build and maintain relationships
Manage sales pipeline
Work closely with the Client Services team and Ad Operations group
Responsible in hiring and developing a strong sales team
Identifying, targeting and converting the top 100 advertisers quickly and efficiently, in order to create maximum and consistent GP for the company.
Delivering exceptional sales results against target
Meeting and exceeding personal profit and activity targets
Analyzing data trends, developing solid strategic sales plans, and preparing and conducting strategic pitches and sales presentations
Educating advertisers and evangelizing the company, particularly at targeted events, conferences and media opportunities
Requirements:
5+ years experience at a media company, selling large-scale campaigns to big advertisers
Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking and ability to create basic financial model
Proven track record of leading world-class sales teams effectively
Must have experience in Internet advertising sales management
A fully developed network of contacts at decision maker level within the North American digital space
Strong sense of motivation, drive & energy – a self-starter and a calculated risk taker
Excellent and demonstrable knowledge of the Social Media Space
Exceptional skills in the areas of written and verbal communication, prioritization, multi-tasking and influencing cross-functional teams
Being aggressively target driven
Proven leadership ability, decision making skills, and the ability to negotiate and motivate others
A deep understanding of the industry's issues, a vision for its growth, and a commitment to achieving the company’s growth plan
Analytic skills are essential, a creative sensibility, good judgment and decisiveness
