Start a Positive Mental Attitude Fitness Plan

Posted by

Have you ever thought about starting a positive mental attitude fitness program (PMAFP)? The concept is based on the same platform as a physical fitness program. Your attitude is just like a muscle; it expands and strengthens the more you use it. The key is to have a regimen of things you do on a regular basis. There is nothing worse than starting a program and not sticking with it. You let yourself down by not following through, and set yourself up for failure the next time you attempt such a course of action.

Make It Convenient
One of the secrets to having a successful PMAFP that you can stick with, is to make it convenient to do. I have learned over the years is that when I make something convenient to do, it becomes easy to accomplish. The more I do it, the sooner it becomes a regular habit.

For example having PMAFP books and magazines at your kitchen table and in your family room makes it convenient to pick one up and start reading it. Downloading e-versions of books onto your ipod or kindle is another great way to do it. By having this material available in convenient locations, you set yourself up for success

Do Two Things at Once
Audio programs are another powerful tool to add to your PMAFP. You can download some material for free from the internet, or better yet, buy exactly what you want from the sources that make it available. Listening to audio programs while you are working out or driving in your car makes it easy to absorb positive and nutritious concepts and ideas that will build your positive mindset.

Here is a short list of some of my favorite classic books and audios to start your PMAFP:

The Magic of Thinking Big – Dr. David Schwartz
Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill
The New Psychology of Achievement – Brian Tracy
The Magic of Believing – Claude Bristol
The Success System That Never Fails – W. Clement Stone
The Strangest Secret – Earl Nightingale

Start Today
The key is to make a commitment today to start learning knowledge and acquiring the skill sets that will allow you to become the type of person who is a lifelong learner. Remember the more you learn, the more you will earn!
