In today’s world where everyone has an opinion and a voice, it’s important to have a strong personal brand that establishes trust with everyone you engage with—whether it be colleagues, potential employers, clients or networking contacts. Your personal brand should help you stand out to help you attract the right opportunities that will lead you to success and happiness in your career.

All strong personal brands exhibit three non-negotiable Cs: clarity, consistency, and constancy. Does your personal brand pass the test?

Clarity
One thing all strong brands share is that it is clear who they are. They know what makes them unique and what they can deliver and that helps them stand out. This unique aspect is what allows them to build brand loyalty. When building your personal brand, be clear about what you promise, what sets you apart from the others. Don’t know where to start? Think about how your best friend would describe you and go from there.

Consistency
Strong brands are consistent (in addition to being clear on who they are). Strong brands don’t change what they say they are, they demonstrate over and over again their unique traits. Demonstrate these unique traits in the work you deliver, emails you send, interviews you go on, resumes you send, and clients you interact with.

Constancy
Another trait that strong brands share is their constant visibility and value they demonstrate. They’re always top of mind. It’s key to stay in front of your target audience. Perhaps it’s how you share industry news on social media or offer value when networking in-person.

Now that you know what the three C’s are to branding, does your personal brand exhibit the characteristics that all strong brands need to standout in your job search?
