  • Overview

    The Client Service Department has a position opening for an Account Manager to be located in Frankfurt, Germany. The qualified candidate will report to Nigel Todd, Client Service Manager. The Account Manager serves as the leader of the Client Service Team and on top of underwriting duties, is in charge of building and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients as assigned.

    Responsibilities

    • Works with clients and brokers for continuous risk improvement and alignment with our corporate business philosophy

    • Has underwriting incl. OP&L responsibility for existing accounts as well as new business

    • Maintains the underwriting integrity on assigned accounts thereby achieving a reasonable profit margin and growth for FM Global

    • Within the Underwriting activities performs the following duties: risk selection, capacity commitment, manage reinsurance costs and placements, rating and pricing, setting policy terms and conditions, policy construction, insurance value collection and verification, establishing accurate MFLs, seeking and managing underwriting approvals as needed to meet client needs

    • Provides support for Sales in developing prospects as assigned by the Client Service Manager

    • Leads the activities of the Client Service Team on the respective accounts

    • Handles special projects as assigned by the Client Service Manager

    • Develops, following the Client Service Process, strong and focused Client Strategies, Client Service Plans, Stewardship presentations and Renewal Proposals

    • Is the key person responsible for managing the relationships at corporate client level

    Qualifications

    • Industrial property insurance background

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience as lead underwriter in the German industrial property insurance market. Alternatively, 5 years plus experience in a Client Service facing role

    • Management experience advantageous and comfortable making high level decisions

    • Fluent in both German and English - written and oral

    • Detailed and quality oriented with strong analytical skills

    • Dedicated team player

    • Excellent communication and organizational skills

    • Good sales and negotiation skills
