    Job Summary: The Consumer Sales Specialist I is responsible for answering in-bound pre-sale questions by interacting with customers over the phone, email, and via web chat regarding Home Standby generators as well as educating potential customers on the benefit of having an authorized sales dealer come to their home to perform an in-home assessment. This role will also conduct outbound calls on open leads to facilitate the assessment process with a dealer.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Answer in-bound pre-sale questions over the phone, email, and web chat regarding Home Standby generators

    • Perform outbound calls to confirm appointment details with customers or facilitate communication with Dealers (i.e. warm transfers)

    • Educate consumers on the benefit of having an authorized sales dealer perform an in-home assessment

    • Follow up with potential customers to get additional information in order to connect them with a dealer

    • Support special campaigns by reaching out to customers that have not committed to purchasing and offering them special promotions

    • Maintain and track sales leads throughout their life-cycle

    • Maintain department expectations including customer satisfaction, productivity, and adherence

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience

    • 1 year related experience within a Sales, Retail, Marketing or Customer Service environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Excellent customer service and sales skills;

    • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a professional manner;

    • Ability to accurately type while on the phone with customers;

    • Ability to work independently and make decisions in the best interest of the customer and the company

    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities according to importance and urgency;

    • Ability to take initiative and work proactively;

    • Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness;

    • Strong problem-solving skills;

    • Flexibility with schedule to account for business coverage and additional hours during storm response.

    • Ability to present information to a variety of audiences;

    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

    Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion, the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
