    Sales Director – New Markets BillPay and Data Rights

    Job Description Summary

    Fiserv is expanding our portfolio and seeks a dynamic Sales Director to take new billpay and epayments capabilities to a mix of existing Fiserv clients and new logos.  The Sales Director will develop the team’s sales strategy, and manage the sales team’s execution, for assigned accounts, leveraging Fiserv’s market leading position in billing and payments.   Specific focus of this role, described below, will be on the largest billers in the US, examples include markets such as utilities, credit card issuers and telecom providers.

    About Fiserv’s New Markets team

    The New Markets team, within Fiserv’s ePayments unit, is focused on the strategic imperative of taking Fiserv’s broad set of industry-leading money movement and bill pay capabilities, and leveraging them to create new value for a wide range of traditional and digital markets and clients. 

    Position Purpose

    Fiserv has the largest bill pay network in the United States.  This network creates revenue advantage for our financial institution clients where consumers pay their bills, and expense reduction/consumer engagement opportunities for large billers who seek to reduce paper bills by aggressively moving consumers to electronic billing and payments that consumers find convenient and useful.

    This position, which will drive a key strategic initiative with high corporate visibility, is responsible for leading a team of Sales Executives to attain sales quota within their assigned territory or market segment.  This position is a player-coach role, and will work with Sales Executives via both cross-selling to existing Fiserv biller clients and through new logo bookings.

    Reports To:  VP, Business Development and Partnerships, ePayments New Markets

    Peers:   Other Sales Directors

    Direct Reports: Sales Executives

    Essential Job Responsibilities


    1. Determines and executes sales plan. Assigns accounts, territories and sales quotas to sales staff and ensures quotas are met.

    1. Plans and directs sales activities for a defined territory to ensure resource and staffing requirements are fulfilled.  Manages  sales pipeline.

    1. Supervises, develops, motivates and mentors sales staff;  Administers  compensation, assesses performance and executes action plans;

    1. Assists sales staff in all phases of sales lifecycle including: identifying and developing leads and value propositions; meeting with clients; deal structuring; and contract negotiation and closing

    1. Monitors metrics to manage the business including: financial forecasts, win/loss reviews, and pipeline analysis.  Ensures sales force automation tool (eCRM) accuracy.

    Required Qualifications:


     â€¢ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

    Job Related Experience:

    • 5-10 years solution selling experience

    • 3+ years sales management experience

    Additional Skills/Knowledge

    • Strong domain expertise in e-billing and e-payments markets delivered to the largest billers in the US, including:

    • Bank billpay, ebill, pay-by-phone/web, statement print/mail
    • Markets including telecomm, financial services, utilities, insurance

    • Solution sales experience

    • Knowledge of selling complex, multi-year or multi-service contracts

    • Negotiation skills to win deals

    Travel Required:  approximately 40%
