    The Multinational Underwriter is a specialized resource within our underwriting practice. In this role you will be a member of The Hartford's (HIG's) growth initiatives to build and execute a broader multinational risk strategy that supports small, mid-size and large U.S. domiciled risks. More specifically, partnered with our home office and regional underwriting teams, this role will underwrite Controlled Master Programs (CMPs), manage the placement of compliant locally admitted policies with our Hartford Global Insurer Network, and provide multinational expertise at the point of sale as needed to differentiate HIG's Multinational Choice offering.

    Success in this role will entail demonstrated sales and negotiation skills, strategic planning to create new business, account expansion and cross sell opportunities. Underwriting includes Property and Casualty lines of business.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

    • 3+ years of Multinational P&C insurance experience strongly preferred

    • Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining relationships with all internal and external business partners

    • High energy self-starter, who is resilient and has an entrepreneurial spirit

    • Goal-oriented and delivers outcomes

    • Ability to challenge the status quo and compete to win

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

    • An ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations and propose solutions

    • Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills

    • Superior technical knowledge and sound decision-making

    • Valid driver's license as a company pool car may be provided for territory travel

    Location

    This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in either the Boston, MA or the Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

    Compensation

    The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

    $96,560 - $182,640

    The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
