Gate Clerk

Northwest Container Services , a Waste Connections Company, is currently looking for a full-time Gate Clerk to work at our Rail Yard in Portland, OR.

The shift will be M-F, 6:15AM - 2:45 PM Or 7:15am-3:45Pm

The pay will be $23-24/per hour

Responsibilities:

• Greet and direct all customers and drivers upon entrance to the terminal

• Track truck details and inspections in handheld scanning device.

• Enter truck information into computer system

• Approaching all encounters with employees, customers and vendors in a friendly, service-oriented manner

• Work on your feet outside in all weather conditions throughout your shift

• This is a safety-sensitive position

The ideal candidate will possess:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Excellent customer service skills

• On-the-job computer use/data entry

• Ability to multi-task

• Ability to stand throughout an 8-hour shift

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions

• Ability to climb, bend, and stoop to inspect containers.
