Achieve sales goals in Software, Hardware, and Training. Products include Point Of Sales (and related modules) and online products, Menu Planning, Inventory (and related modules) as primary focus. Target audience is school districts with 4 buildings or less.
1) Generate, qualify, process and work leads through ALL lead-generation activities.
Participation in National, State or Regional Shows as requested
"Cold Callingâ€ and other lead generation activities
Product demonstrations performed online with WebEx type applications
2) Develop and maintain relationships with regional Food Service Management Companies.
3) Develop a territory plan with target accounts and activity, showing strategic focus areas and development of new product cross selling opportunities.
4) Assist when necessary in client install, deployments and trainings.
1) Become proficient in the demonstration of primary Heartland branded products.
2) Become familiar with industry practices and procedures of the K-12 School Food Service Industry including the USDA School Meals Initiative (SMI) and Child Nutrition Program.
3) Maintain prospect account data in Sales Force in a timely fashion.
4) Maintain forecasting in Sales Force.
5) Become familiar with and use of ALL communications media to office (Customer Information System, Google G Suite, Sales Calendar, Voice Mail, etc.)
6) Monitor expenses by adhering to Employee Manual expense guidelines.
7) Pass leads of 5 buildings and higher to appropriate Sales Rep
In addition to the above specific attributes, the ideal candidate will have proficient written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently make web presentations to food service personnel and board level senior executives. It is necessary to show the ability and understanding on how to influence decisions and behaviors. The ability to make decisions based on research and analysis is necessary. Aptitude for numbers, writing, editing and proofreading are required. Familiarity and comprehension of our markets along with an understanding of all of the companyâ€™s products, services and their applications to customers is essential. Efficient problem solving and troubleshooting skills are necessary. The ability to work independently or as a functional team member is required. Organizational skills with intense attention to details, timelines and metrics are necessary.
The individual also must possess the following general qualities:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field and three to four years of related Sales experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability :
Possess the ability to effectively present and communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, colleagues and customers.
Math Ability :
Must be able to work with general mathematical concepts including probability, statistical inference, forecasting and logistics. Able to compute rate, ratio and percent and to create and interpret graphs.
Reasoning Ability :
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Should have good problem-solving techniques and the ability to troubleshoot technical problems. Ability to know when to ask for additional resources or assistance from other groups.
Computer Skills :
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google G Suite, and internet browser applications.

Work Environment :
The work necessary for this role would primarily be accomplished from Rochester, NY based office, or while traveling to school districts within the defined sales territory.
