    SCOPE OF POSITION:

    Sells Interior Division products to assigned facilities via telephone. Responsible for all aspects of the sales process from prospecting to receipt of orders. Contacts, sells, and services products to customers over the telephone including assigned accounts, major accounts, and prospective customers including significant amount of cold calling by performing the following duties.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Performs all aspects of telephone sales including significant amount of cold calling in addition to selling active accounts. Discerns customer interest and needs through effective questioning and listening skills.

    • Engages customers with a compelling sales message targeted towards their specific needs or areas of interest. Uses call screeners effectively. Presents a clear sales message that links product features, application and benefits to specific customer needs. Responds clearly to customer objections and eliminates sales barriers.

    • Achieves required phone volumes for outbound sales calls per day.

    • Prepares and sends product samples, letters and brochures for individual direct mailings; telephone follow up calls are expected after each direct mailing is received by the prospect.

    • Organizes sales efforts for territory account management. Prioritizes, organizes, and schedules callbacks to customers in a computer calendar/diary program.

    • Interprets individual customer requirements and makes appropriate recommendations for company products; determines customer requirements for new products and services and introduces new products to ongoing accounts.

    • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of company products and competitive products; must be familiar with company products and components, product applications, pricing procedures and sales polices.

    • Determines pricing and issues price quotes based on customer, market and established pricing guidelines; follows up on quotes when issued.

    • Closes sales over phone, processes accepted orders, maintains accurate daily records, and provides necessary follow-up.

    • Provides after-sales support. Acknowledges customers' orders, advises customer on order changes, order status, prices, etc. Follows up orders and addresses any on-going customer needs, concerns or complaints requiring product replacements or adjustments.

    • Delegates requests for information, complaints or service of a technical nature to the Post Sales department for analysis or disposition.

    • Coordinates qualified projects, quotes and orders with Regional Sales Managers as needed and warranted, informs them of potential sales leads where business cannot be closed over the phone.

    • Documents, updates, and maintains customer contact database.

    • Works toward meeting monthly goals for bookings, order totals, and telephone calls.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION: (Minimum Education and/or Experience required)

    • Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred, high school diploma mandatory. Must have 2-3 years of prior experience working in an outbound telesales environment. Previous telesales experience is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Proven record of accomplishment in generating sales by inside sales/outbound phone calls as an order creator.

    • Demonstrated experience in prospecting, quoting, closing the business, and working under a sales budget/quota system.

    • Previous experience in working with a configured or manufactured product is helpful as our product is somewhat technical and not "off the shelf".

    • Background in healthcare/education inside telesales helpful.

    • Self-motivated, self-starter that works well independently.

    • Capable of developing needs and closing sales.

    • Confident, energetic with a positive attitude and friendly voice that sells.

    • Team player suited for small office environment.

    • Previous experience with CRM/telesales systems in scheduling callbacks to customers helpful (~~~, Act, Goldmine, Telemagic, etc.).

    • Familiarity in using web-based applications in a windows environment. Solid keyboarding skills (at least 25-30 wpm).

    • Must know Windows, Word, Excel, and Email.

    • Must be comfortable and confident in working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate outstanding organization skills in scheduling their workload.
