Develop and maintain customer & trade-lane specific business plan to achieve or exceed weekly production quotas with primary focus on exports.
Pre-plan & manage sales territories ensuring that an average of 12-15 sales calls per week are made excluding required management meetings, holiday & vacations.
Utilize travel & customer entertainment budget to augment customer relationships & business plan achievement.
Manage qualification of new BCO or value added NVOCC business opportunities by monthly review of Piers market data to ensure that active customers that are moving volumes greater than 100 TEUS per year are known & called on within each sales territory.
Ensure all sales call pre & post work requirements are meet including but not limited to: Pre Call - Agenda set and communicated to customer, call objective outlined, pre-call data pulled. Post Call - Confirmation letter to account confirming discussion outcome(s), LISA Call update, call summary to sales management and trade, and all required actions to ensure commitments to the account are met.
Timely response to all emails, phone-calls, other requests for information within agreed upon standards which are as follows:
During Business Hours - Acknowledge & provide follow up to all urgent emails or voice mail messages within 2 hours.
Acknowledge & provide follow up to all normal emails or non-urgent voice mail messages within 4 hours.
Acknowledge sales leads within 2 days with sales follow up occurring within 5 working days.
Associates shall also be available during off business hours to in case of urgent matters.
Prepare & complete required weekly management reports as directed.
Contribute to all mandatory Trade-lane discussion to reveiw trade specific opportunities and target account programs.
Participate in relevant reefer related trade shows or conventions as required to grow CMA CGM's naem in the reefer market.
Develop a working expertise of all key reefer trades (commodities, market trends, primary markets, history of the trades, etc.
Network with thrid party provides (terminals, tuckers, forwarders, trade associations).
Miscellaneous related duties or projects as assigned.
Skill Sets / Education & Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma required.
Minimum 3 years of industry experience.
Good Computer Skills in basic Word, Excel, Power Point
Good communication & interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Skill Sets / Education & Experience Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
2 years carrier outside sales experience preferred
