  • Position Summary:

    The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for managing an assigned geographic territory and the face-to-face relationships with the accounts residing within the territory. This position will be responsible for meeting sales objectives through the development of an effective relationships. This position will report to the Director of Sales.

    Essential Functions of the Job:

    • Calling on customers in assigned territory, selling new and used equipment, and rentals while supporting parts and service solutions.

    • Identifying and cultivating new sales opportunities.

    • Following up on new leads and maintaining existing customer relationships

    • Developing and maintaining a strong knowledge of Morbark, Rayco, Boxer Equipment (tow-behind chippers, stump grinders, mini-skid loaders and articulate wheel loaders) in addition to competitive products.

    • Conducting demonstrations of equipment in the field and/or operating machinery at a customer's job site.

    • Processing all quotes, sales, rentals, and lease-purchase agreements. Supporting customer and company needs during financing and/or credit application processes.

    • Assisting with account receivables collections.

    • Effectively understanding and using all manufacturer's programs and resources to generate new business.

    • Represents Morbark Tree Care Equipment at factory, industry and company events, including meetings, trainings and trade-shows.

    • Performs all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner including, but not limited to, all paperwork and expense reporting requirements.

    • Able to travel and spend up to 65% of weekdays away from home.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

    • Excellent communication and negotiating skills, both verbal and written. Good grammar usage and persuasive skills. Excellent customer service skills required.

    • Able to plan, prioritize and organize own work schedule and that of subordinates/sales force.

    • Able to travel frequently to various territories and/or dealer sites. Must have an insurable driving record.

    • Able to work overtime as needed to accomplish goals and objectives.

    • Ability to motivate and instill confidence in others through strong leadership skills and positive thinking.

    • Technology - Ability to enter customer information in CRM database, advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications a plus, advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software - JD Edwards a plus

    • Ability to multi-task and have the foresight to plan and delegate accordingly.

    • Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong organizational and time management skills.

    • Manufacturing industry experience preferred.

    • This position requires a valid driver license and ability to meet requirements of the Company Driver Policy; Morbark will review motor vehicle records annually for all employees for whom driving a motor vehicle is an essential job function or when employees must obtain and drive rental vehicles during the course of conducting company business.

    Education and Experience :

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

    • Minimum 3 years of sales experience in an equipment use industry.

    • 3+ years of experience with wood or aggregate processing equipment or material handling equipment preferred.

    • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
