The Tableau Demo Team - DM/SM Specialist will be responsible for developing, curating and supporting Tableau pre-sales demonstration assets, infrastructure, techniques and skills, specifically for the Tableau Data Management (DM) and Server Management (SM) products. These products play a critical part in Tableau's sales success. Employees in this role need to be comfortable with rolling up their sleeves with technical results, as well as with delivering live demos and demo education to internal, partner, or customer audiences. The candidate should be passionate about enabling pre-sales consultants to have the finest demos in the industry at-the-ready with minimal administrative overhead and excited to bring new ideas to help grow and evolve these products and our markets.
Partner with One Analytics Solutions Engineers to drive DM/SM revenue on customer opportunities.
Develop Tableau DM/SM technical content: demonstration assets for DM/SM to be shared with the Tableau worldwide SE community, including scripts, polished videos, and evangelism.
Support demo systems: improving their uptime; craft and executing strategies for upgrades, user management, integration and security. This will involve several third-party platforms as well, because of the DM product's affinity with vendors such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Amazon Glue, Alteryx and other vendors.
Build and integrate demo assets using Salesforce, Heroku, Tableau, Salesforce Q Central apps, Skytap, and other Salesforce technologies and demo platforms.
Participate in demo strategy development: working as part of a team to craft the vision for Tableau/Salesforce demo systems, content and skills
Serve on the board of the pre-sales Data Champions team, plus any other Champions team where DM/SM needs representation.
Never losing sight of revenue. Your end goal is to empower the corporation to use this demo content to drive customer revenue.
Assist with developing the business of DM/SM: working with the sales team to refine the sales motion by reviewing data and discovering leading indicators to assist the team in targeting the right accounts and prioritizing the right activities.
Communicate with the DM/SM product teams as the need arises to ensure the accurate direction of the DM/SM products.
Work with pre-sales consultants face-to-face to drive better demo delivery expertise.
Work alongside colleagues from across Tableau, Salesforce, and customer and partner organizations on other, ancillary projects and initiatives.
Support relevant marketing initiatives like Dreamforce and Tableau Conference.
Knowledge and skill requirements:
Passion for high-quality work, including not just technical constructs but written documentation and videos.
Tableau CRM, Salesforce Core, Tableau Desktop, Server, and Prep skills, as well as other Tableau tools: CMT, Catalog, Conductor, Bridge, etc.
Familiarity with Colibra/Alation/Informatica
Ability to be assigned multiple concurrent deliverables and execute them to completion
Near-neighbor technologies: AWS, cloud, relational database, SAML, Heroku, web development, among others
Prior pre-sales experience
Prior experience delivering high-stakes demos
Strong work ethic
Efficiently gives and receives feedback
Uses good judgment and tact
