    Team or Function Overview

    The Retail Sales Representative is responsible for supporting our sales and marketing efforts at large national retail locations.

    Summary

    This role will facilitate the sale and flow of GAF products through big box home improvement retail accounts and will educate and promote the growth of the roofing category.

    Essential Duties

    Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Display strong negotiating tactics by leveraging value propositions and GAF System Selling

    • Compile reporting to highlight hits, misses, learning, competitive landscape, and strategic next steps; proactively identify opportunities to exceed expectations and position our clients as leaders in their space.

    • Influence your contractors by constantly networking to become a trusted advisor to existing and potential customers. Navigate when to defer to a client's request vs. when to guide a client to make better choices. Thrive on expert problem solving, determining solutions that execute favorable results. Engage and educate customers with insight and product knowledge via Retail store/contractor meetings.

    • Explain complex subject matters (e.g. market conditions) to any audience and tactfully communicate both good & bad news.

    • Display diplomacy and a mastered ability to build immediate rapport with anyone.

    • Train individuals or small groups with emphasis on general product knowledge, application techniques, and best practices.

    • Provide feedback on market conditions, monitor,inventorylevels,and provide training to retail associates

    • Develop and maintain close working relationships with the Retail Sales Service Manager, Pro Retail Specialist, GAF Territory Sales Managers, Big Box home improvement retail management teams, inside and outside pro associates, merchandising teams, and store associates.

    • Build and manage a book of contractors from prospecting through to the consultation phase building lasting and meaningful relationships. Expect to juggle competing priorities and store requests/deadlines regularly.

    • Own, progress, and close the sales funnel, turning potential Contractor opportunities into wins, through value-selling the benefits of GAF products. Overcome objections and convert hurdles into growth opportunities.

    • Ability to work with heights occasionally

    • Frequent sitting, walking, and standing; occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing

    • Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs of products, materials, boxes, equipment, etc. occasionally

    • Ability to work in outdoor conditions including high/low temperatures, inclement weather, wind, dust, humidity, etc., frequently

    • Ability to frequently and quickly converse with and convey information to others on the phone and in-person

    • Manual dexterity to routinely operate standard office equipment and keyboards

    • Visual acuity including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus routinely to view documents and computer screens, operate motor vehicles, etc.

    • Must continuously have the ability to differentiate colors precisely

    • Ability to wear and work in PPE occasionally

    • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and travel without assistance routinely

    • Ability to operate motor vehicle and safely traverse/navigate jobsites in a constant state of alertness routinely

    Under This Roof, We Require

    • 1 years experience in a sales environment, or customer service-focused role (building materials industry a plus)

    • The ability to have and maintain a driver's license

    • The ability to cold call contractors and talk to them about their business

    Under This Roof, We Also Value

    • Bachelor's Degree, preferred

    • 1 to 2 years experience in a salesor customer service-focused role (building materials industry a plus)

    • A combination of retail sales & customer service along with an interest in advancement is desired

    • Highly motivated and have a strong desire for advancement in a roofing sales capacity

    • Intermediate proficiency using Google Suite

    • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Google Suite

    • Experience with SalesForce is a plus

    • Excellent written, organization, and communication skills

    • Ability to multi-task and work independently

    • Ability to travel within assigned territory

    • Bilingual a plus

    Consideration will be given based on geography, candidate experience, and qualifications.

    Annual Salary Range: 49,500-63,250

    Annual Bonus Range: 15,200-20,900
