    The Rotating Equipment Sales Professional provides technical sales development for the Reciprocating Compressors Engineered to Order business. This exciting opportunity allows for domestic and global prospecting, project scope definition, cost estimation, proposal development, scope discussions, and hand-over of orders for project execution. This position can be based in Painted Post, NY; Houston, TX or Ft. Collins, CO. Working in a fully remote capacity will also be considered! Apply now and join our dynamic team!

    How You'll Make an Impact

    Work safely following all corporate / local procedures and timely completion of all required safety training.

    • Maintain detailed records.

    • Follow all processes and acquire required approvals.

    • Collaborate and iterate with Sales; and subject matter authorities from Engineering, Factory, and Vendors; and other team members to successfully define project details and requirements prior to Order.

    • Perform front-end technical evaluations, perform basic calculations, and conduct preliminary design/proposal review meetings to mitigate technical risk on upgrade/revamp opportunities.

    • Review Client data and perform technical review to investigate if sufficient details are available to develop the upgrade/revamp solution and to evaluate existing machinery reliability concerns from a design perspective.

    • Develop Material and Mechanical Upgrade/reevaluate and revise Options to address Client needs/concerns while using findings of technical evaluations to generate good Client value selling proposition statements to generate business.

    • Develop cost model and schedule for proposed solution (hardware, labor, engineering, buy-out, risk, travel, and commercial instrument costs).

    • Develop clear technical/commercial proposals and present data to customers (internal, and external (as required) to gain profitable business for the company.

    • Clear and concise problem statement

    • Summary of equipment history

    • Summary of offering and value proposition

    • Payback analysis (value calculations, as relevant)

    • Detailed scope of supply

    • Performance & mechanical details as necessary

    • Execution logistics plan

    • Commercial details: price, delivery, terms and conditions of sale, exclusions

    • Facilitate order entry and commercial review of Client Purchase Agreement and act as interface between Sales and the Factory

    • Lead Internal Project Kick-Off Meetings (and external meetings as needed)

    • To support proposal generation, the following are required:

    • Follow the inquiry/application process

    • Identify centrifugal compressor product features

    • Develop upgrade/revamp solutions, initiate peer review, and write commercial/technical proposals

    • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and using good judgment (ie. knowing which means to use in different scenarios (e.g. phone, e-mail, SMS, MS-Teams, etc...)

    • Excellent time management and ability to multitask

    • Other miscellaneous duties to support the technical marketing and sales team.

    What You Bring:

    • Bachelors degree with a minimum of 3 years proven track record with rotating machinery (ie. reciprocating compressors, turbomachinery, or gas turbines) is required.

    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills.

    • Possess and demonstrate a high degree of tact and integrity along with an appropriate level of tenacity.

    • Ability to prioritize tasks and set goals

    • Must have excellent working knowledge using Microsoft Office Suite to create proposals and presentations (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-Point).

    • Work both on a team and also independently.

    • Must be willing to travel up to 20%, both domestically and Internationally in order to provide sales support to help close potential opportunities.

    • Must have the ability to obtain a passport

    • Ability to listen to customer needs, develop complex solutions and sell the benefits to the client.

    • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

    Preferred:

    • Experience working for a major rotating equipment supplier.

    • Working knowledge and understanding of Dresser-Rand's products and services

    • Commercial background in selling, costing, and proposal development is a plus.

    • Solid foundation in drive train equipment such as steam turbines, motors, gears and gas turbines as well any supporting auxiliary systems.

    • Experience writing technical/commercial proposals.

    • Experience with ORACLE and/or SAP preferred.

    • This job may be based in New York. Siemens Energy offers a variety of health and wellness benefits including paid time off and holiday pay. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: ~~~. The base salary range for this position if based in New York is $63,000 - $100,000. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on everyone's qualifications.
