    General Overview of Position:

    The role of the Sales Consultant (SC) is to work directly with prospects and industry professionals to develop new clients within assigned market areas.

    SC must have a deep understanding of the construction market, who the prospects are, and will learn all ABCO and Arcxis services available in their market. SC is also responsible for learning and utilizing the ABCO and Arcxis sales processes, tools and methodologies to effectively sell to our industry.

    SC must be capable of creating and executing sales strategies that will help our organization achieve its business objectives.

    SC shall monitor and track key performance indicators (KPI) including meeting all goals and limits set by Executive management, contact rates, gross profit percentage, win ratios and client & service diversity. It is the responsibility of the SC to anticipate changes in business performance and react quickly to these changes.

    • Deep understanding of the construction industry, including best industry practices, components, trades, scheduling, organizational structure, etc.
    • Experience with construction quality related network and ability to collaborate and influence continuing industry improvement
    • Ability to research and engage stakeholders to gather information
    • Ability to utilize independent judgement & make sound decisions
    • Understand basic pricing of construction components and systems
    • Ability to read and understand residential and commercial building plans
    • High attention to detail and well organized

    Essential Functions of the Job:

    • Operate with a high level of professionalism: integrity, ethics, a passion for learning, respect, accountability, and drive to always exceed internal and external expectations
    • Work collaboratively with our field operations and accounting departments to ensure both high client service and a profitable business
    • Generate leads and sales to new and existing clients
    • Decision Making is critical in this role, the SC must be a problem solver who can rapidly make decisions and improve our business
    • Ability to identify new/modified services due to industry changes and evolving client needs
    • Ability to review, write, and collaborate on company standard operating procedures (SOPs)
    • Manage to budget and schedule
    • Analyze general economic, business, and financial information and apply that to our business


    Education, Experience and Desired Qualifications:

    • 2+ years in outside sales
    • Professional affiliation preferred, ICC, USGBC, BIA/HBA, local building and development associations
    • Familiar with basic building science, construction, and green building programs
    • Previous experience and success in prospecting, qualifying and closing new accounts in the construction industry
    • Strong and effective communicator, both verbally and written, someone who can interface cooperatively with various departments of the company, as well as clients and consultant teams
    • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and CRM applications
    • Experience with web navigation and online research

    Vice President and General Manager of ABCO, LLC

    Work Environment

    This job operates in both a professional office and construction field environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines) and standard field inspection equipment (i.e. tablet, tape measure, level, ladders, etc.)

    This position may work from home. Working from home requires a professional environment and ability to communicate via web-based conferencing, phones, and email. This position may attend client meetings, conference, and networking events and must dress professionally.

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand or sit and move about an office space.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
