A Day in the Life
At Medtronic, the Sales Representative 1, Spine Therapies is responsible for soliciting orders, selling Medtronic Spinal products assigned and representing the company in accordance with its policies and in the area assigned; for maintaining an awareness of local competitive conditions. This position will work in tandem with Spine Sales Representatives II and will have territory coverage responsibility and limited sales responsibility. Allocation guideline for core responsibilities include: Inventory Management, Case Coverage, and Selling (outside the operating room).
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
Maintain, manage and trackConsignments and Loaner inventory.
Keep non usage and flight usageto a minimum level.
Territory case coverage.
Manage accounts in assignedterritory.
Prepare and submit call reportsas required by the District Sales Manager.
Maintain up-to-date customerrecord books and other records in accordance with District Sales Manager'sinstructions.
Aggressively solicit ordersfrom present and prospective customers for the products assigned.
Aggressively seek new customersand formulate and follow plans for such action as directed by the DistrictSales Manager.
Resolve customer complaints inaccordance with Medtronic Spinal policies and advise District SalesManager and Medtronic Spinal promptly of any situation beyond scope ofauthority.
Recommend the additions of newproducts and the modification or deletion of present products to the lineas appropriate.
Successful completion of all requiredproduct and sales related training curriculum.
Meet or exceed sales quota andtotal company market share in assigned territory.
Attend and participate in salesmeetings, training programs and conventions as directed.
Identify selling opportunitiesand work closely with the sales representative to increase sales in theirrespective accounts.
Comply with all MedtronicSpinal policies.
Work weekends, evenings, andHolidays as required on an emergency basis.
MustHave: Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED ANDa minimum of 4 years of sales experience including 2 years of medicalsales; or
High School Diploma or GEDAND 2 years of MedtronicRTG(Pain, Brain or Spine) Clinical Specialist or Sales Rep I experiencewith 2 years of prior clinical or medical sales experience; or
Associate's Degree AND aminimum of 2 years of sales experience, or 1 year of Medtronic RTGClinical Specialist experience; or
Associate's Degree AND 1 yearof Medtronic RTG (Pain, Brain or Spine) Clinical Specialist or Sales Rep Iexperience with 1 year of prior clinical or medical sales experience; or
Nice to Have

â€¢ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
â€¢ Ability to work in an operating room setting
â€¢ Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule
â€¢ Ortho, Spine or O.R. experience strongly preferred
