Edwards Lifesciences is seeking a dynamic Sales Specialist to drive successful sales of Critical Care products in the Washington and Coeur D'Alene Idaho markets. The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve sales objectives and maintain Edwards Lifesciences' dominance in the Critical Care market. They must be able to identify, develop and close new sales opportunities. This sales role works directly with a Clinical Field Specialist to provide education and clinical support of the Enhanced Surgical Recovery Process to clinicians in the critical care and operating room environment.
In this role, the selected candidate will be expected to:
Interface with a diverse set of customers within the hospital setting - Surgeons, Intensivists, Materials Management, Anesthesiologists, and Critical Care.
Identify sales opportunities based on patient and surgeon needs and tailor product recommendations to facilitate excellent patient and procedural outcomes and attain/exceed quota in all product categories.
Develop new business opportunities and increase adoption and utilization with established customers.
Successfully launch new products as defined by meeting and/or exceeding sales quota in each product category.
Develop sales forecasts and execute strategic plans for territory.
Provide expert and comprehensive guidance on the use of devices and/or products to enable physicians and staff to reach expert proficiency and achieve excellent patient outcomes.
Sell company's medical devices products by interacting with established customers, i.e. physicians, other health care providers, hospital administration, and materials management, with cardiac surgeons as the primary focus and develop prospects.
Establish and strengthen customer relationships including those with key opinion leaders.
Ensure that clinicians are provided with adequate technical, product and in-service support and that staff are trained properly on the safe and effective use of products
Complete administrative requirements in a timely manner including but not limited to inventory management activities, expense reports, internal training and education assignments.
Educate physicians on medical literature, concepts and procedures related to company's products.
Maintain thorough territory knowledge including competitive activity and customer utilization practices.
Prepare and negotiate price offers/contracts in collaboration with senior management.
Support education during surgical cases in the Operating Room setting.
Work closely with 1:1 Clinical specialist model
The territory is all of Washington state and Coeur D'alene, Idaho. The Sales Specialist must live in the territory.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution3 years Medical Device Clinical Sales Experience (preferably implantable Cardiovascular Surgical Device Sales)
Proven success launching and selling new technology
Operating room sales experience
Proven track record of successful territory and account management
Ability to travel 25% of the time to cover assigned territory
Knowledge of the core strengths and limitations of assigned products and competitor products
Understands strategy, selling model, medical devices industry and selling environment of own territory
Develops knowledge of assigned customer organizations and their challenges, as well as those of prospective customers
Good understanding of hemodynamic monitoring as well as cardiovascular anatomy, pathology and physiology
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
