    Due to rapid growth, Oracle Government Defense and Intelligence (GDI) is seeking several Pre-Sales Solution Engineers that have a passion for cloud concepts, and system integration, and cloud migrations that can support customer facing engagements along with several internal Oracle sales efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is tired of working on the same project or with the exact same technology for months or years without the possibility of future growth.

    We are looking for several Cloud Pre-Sales Solution Engineers in with expertise in one or more of the following specialty area's:

    • Enterprise Migration & Modernization - migration from other clouds and on-premise legacy systems

    • CyberSecurity - Network Security & Identity Management

    • AI/ML - generative AI, Large Language Model (LLM) training & NVIDIA GPU programming

    • Database -- data management, Oracle polyglot Database, GoldenGate data replication

    • Analytics - Data Lake solutions, Big Data, Hadoop - MapReduce, Apache Spark

    Those who excel in this role are motivated self-starters who love to solve challenging problems, feel comfortable working directly with customers and have an insatiable curiosity about what "is possible" with cloud technology. The primary focus of a Solutions Engineer is to become an expert in a core set of Oracle products and solutions and to present the value proposition and benefits of our solutions to our partners, prospects, customers, and internally to our sales force.

    This position will be based in the Washington D.C. area and candidates will need to be able to obtain a Secret / Top-Secret Security Clearance to work with the US Federal government.

    Responsibilities:

    • Understanding, identifying, and documenting client requirements, conduct business and technical studies, design, develop, integrate, and implement information systems business solutions, and provide advice on information systems strategy, policy, management, security, and service delivery.

    • Providing pre-sales technical and functional support to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction.

    • Acts as a technical resource, mentor, and leader for less experienced Solution Engineers.

    • Develop and deliver high quality standard Oracle presentations, demonstrations, and proof of concept implementations.

    • Present and articulate advanced product features and benefits, product future direction and overall Oracle solutions.

    • Design, validate, and present Oracle cloud architecture solutions to include advanced product concepts, future direction, and 3rd party complimentary products.

    • Support sales team in online and in-person selling efforts with minimal supervision.

    Additional Desired Skillsets

    • Knowledge and experience with any of public cloud providers including Oracle, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure or Google (GCP) architecture, tools, and cloud methodologies

    • Solution Architect and/or Developer Certification on Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

    • Cloud computing

    • Experience with government accreditations for Cloud such as FedRAMP, Impact Level, and ICD 503

    Ability to travel as needed; approximately 25% of the time .

    BS degree or equivalent.

    Cloud Certifications are highly desirable.

    10+ years relevant computer applications or database/tools experience.

    Oracle product experience highly desirable.

    Job duties are varied and complex, needing independent judgment.

    May have a project lead role.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Active or ability to obtain DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance - US Citizen

    Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology/application to client business. Facilitation of customer product/application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks; provision of support throughout the sell.

    As a Specialist Cloud Solution Engineer, you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction. Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Solution Engineers. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions. Develops productivity tools and training for other Solution Engineers. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations. Leads all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

    Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 10 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database/tools. Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors. Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, needs analysis, positioning, business justification and closing techniques. Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed. A/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.

    Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

    US: Hiring Range: from $137,900 to $232,300 per annum. May be eligible for equity and compensation deferral. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 70/30.

    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
