    Job Summary:

    As a Store Associate, you will work in a retail store/warehouse environment. As the "face of Trane Supply" you will be a trusted advisor to customers, working to identify their needs and help to provide timely solutions regarding parts, equipment and supplies. You will be responsible for processing customer orders and responding to their inquiries, questions or concerns to ensure customer satisfaction and future sales. Successful Store Associates have solid understanding of product offerings, achieve sales goals and take responsibility for the order management & fulfillment processes. You will be responsible for the coordination of the stores on-site activities, handling receipt, stocking, and shipping of products; staging and fulfilling customer orders; and all transactions with the business and local vendors.

    Responsibilities:

    • Customer Engagement

    • Engages with walk-in sales counter customers to fully identify needs, respond to inquiries or questions, and offer timely quality solutions.

    • Assists customers in making product selections by asking questions and actively listening to identify customer needs. Identifies alternate or substitute products to meet customer needs.

    • Executes quote and order management processes with a high level of accuracy to ensure customer satisfaction

    • Asks relevant questions to understand customer needs to grow sales by identifying related products or add-on solutions, making customers aware of product promotions, and adding lines to parts orders.

    • Understand products in order to assist customers in getting the best possible solutions.

    • Order Fulfillment

    • Follows up promptly on all customer requests for information, quotes, alternative parts and delivery dates. Proactively communicates with customers about any expected delays or issues with their order.

    • Meets or exceeds sales plans by maintaining current knowledge of all portfolio offerings to provide value propositions to the customer and drive sales.

    • Accurately picks and prepares all orders and store transfers in a timely manner. Managing order shipping to meet cutoff times and all regulatory standards.

    • Manages in store customer will call & backorders

    • Process RMA's & product warranties

    • Store Operations

    • Maintains the highest standards in cleanliness in the work environment, and appearance of the showroom through stocking shelves, housekeeping, creating displays, etc.

    • Helps to manage the Operations Performance dashboard to ensure standard flow of work.

    • Assists in unloading and unpacking of incoming stock, routing deliveries, or packing orders. Checks packing slips, prices and quantities. Filing freight bills of lading, freight claims for damaged goods, equipment packing slips, etc. for inventory reconciliation and audit purposes.

    • Understand and execute processes and standard work & identify new opportunities for process improvements.

    • Practices safe material handling techniques. This position utilizes both manual and power material handling equipment to perform job functions, such as pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.

    • Reinforces culture of safety by utilizing all appropriate resources to perform all functions of the job safely

    • Inventory Management

    • Assists with warehouse duties and functions to support inventory integrity.

    • Tasks include cycle counts, inventory control & bin location to maintain inventory accuracy and efficiency standards, while following standard operating procedures.

    • Stocks the parts store with an appropriate amount of merchandise.

    • Understands and applies inventory planning criteria regarding product demand and levels of stock replenishment.

    Qualifications:

    We are looking for a customer oriented person with a High school diploma or GED required plus minimum of 2 years of inside sales, retail or related experience. HVAC sales or related HVAC experience is beneficial. A mechanical aptitude and background will be helpful in this role. Proven experience in building customer relationships.

    • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

    • Previous experience in sales related training programs is an asset

    • High level of confidence in working with computers and computer software eg. MS Office, Point of Sales System

    Salary:

    From $44,500 and up based on experience and will include a monthly incentive plan of 15%

    Disclaimer: This base salary range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
