    We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join our team. The Technical Sales Engineer is a conduit between engineering and business development. Will be responsible for understanding the market through, market research, customer interaction, and evaluation of the government budgets. Will directly interact with current and potential clients to assess needs and system requirements, delivering technical presentations, and explain the products or services that meet the customers need. The role will focus on capturing contracts for the design and production of advanced airborne Electro-optical systems for military and security applications

    Performance Objectives:

    • Working with Business development, Establish and cultivate strong relationships with strategic customers

    • Engages strategic customers to understand their mission needs and develop best technical solutions

    • Researches and understands existing solutions and all competitive product offerings

    • Develops deep knowledge of underlying technology to enable best selections and resulting architectures

    • Helps define appropriate sensors and technology providers to address end applications

    • Support of US government RFI/RFP/RFQ technical writing and proposal development, including pricing strategy, budgets, and creation of BOM's.

    • Develop presentations and customer briefing materials.

    • Understand and articulate customer requirements, and identify/develop highly differentiated solutions to meet customer needs.

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline with 5 years of professional relevant experience, OR, Master's Degree in Engineering/Business Administration Discipline with 2 years of professional relevant experience in Airborne Optical Systems.

    • Understanding of DoD missions in any one or more of the following categories: reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition, and threat detection in support of weapons, fixed wing and rotary aircraft.

    • Direct Government customer interface (e.g. US Air Force, US Navy, etc.)

    • Direct experience interacting with customers to define mission needs and translating requirements to engineering and program management personnel.

    • Direct familiarity and experience working with US military requirements, acquisition, and operational agencies.

    • Ability to influence and effectively shape customer requirements within the following constituencies: government customer, prime contractor customer, and partners/suppliers

    • Working knowledge of the US Department of Defense procurement processes, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARs), Foreign Military Sales/Funded (FMS/ FMF) and International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR) is required.

    • Expert knowledge in innovative engineering practices

    • Ability to work well across multiple engineering disciplines

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to make complex decisions with sparse data

    • Must be a US Citizen as defined by NIPSOM and be able to obtain and maintain at a minimum an Active SECRET / T3 security clearance, previous access to TOP SECRET SCI and SAP programs is preferable

    • Pre-employment federal level drug screening and background checks are standard

    • Willing and able to work extended hours when necessary .

    • Position is based in Santa Rosa, and requires domestic travel (50%) and periodic international travel.
