    ADM, North American Energy & Biofuels

    This is a full-time, exempt position.

    Main Functions:

    Reporting to the Director, Ethanol Trade & Execution, this position is part of the commercial ethanol team within the North American Energy & Biofuels group. The position will be accountable for ethanol trade, communication of our trading strategy, position reporting, and ownership/analysis of financial results. This person will work in a team environment within the commercial group while also interacting with other ADM divisions on a daily basis. The position will also require working in a hectic environment while multi-tasking along with the ability and desire to learn and grow their responsibilities within the group.

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:

    • Builds and maintains relationships with customers, service providers, and ADM colleagues

    • Works to attain positive, cooperative relationships with internal colleagues across divisions & responsibilities

    • Understands business requirements in order to collaborate and add value

    • Handles all accounting related issues in a timely manner to ensure good customer service and accurate reporting

    • Develops a clear understanding of local, national, and world markets and trends

    • Aggressively seeks to deliver and receive timely market information

    • Understanding of margin calculations and their effect on commodity pricing

    • Understands and has strict adherence to corporate compliance policies, safety systems, and programs

    • Ensures that individual goals are aligned with company goals

    • Constantly works on individual personal development within the company

    • Develops good understanding of local plants, operations, and operating personnel

    • Ensures the most cost efficient transportation and logistics

    • Effectively use communication channels for proper coordination internally and externally

    • Portrays a positive image of the company and self when interacting with customers and colleagues

    • Prepares and submits daily and ad hoc reports

    • Helps in the development and training of new employees

    Requirements:

    University degree in agriculture or business (i.e. economics, finance, accounting). Experience in the trading and hedging of commodities and related fuel, feeds, oils and/or energy products globally is required. Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment. Strong communication skills and an aggressive personality are assets in this position. Proven ability of assessing risk and exercising sound judgment in making decisions. Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage effectively within a team based work environment. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers. Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database, word processing software, and applications within a windows based environment. Individual must be committed to corporate ethics policies and safety programs.
