Associate Underwriter

Program Brokerage Corporation (PBC), a subsidiary of HUB International, is a wholesale insurance broker offering retail insurance agents innovative solutions through its general wholesale operation and niche programs.

We are seeking an Associate Underwriter to join our dedicated team in our Warwick, RI office.

Job Purpose: The Associate Underwriter will play a pivotal role in supporting the team, managing a diverse range of daily activities with autonomy, technical expertise, and a solid understanding of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Policy Management: Receive, review, and process policies, endorsements, and other relevant documents.

• Coverage Adjustments: Execute placement requests to modify coverage as required.

• Financial Oversight: Review and forward premium invoices accurately.

• Submission Preparation: Assist in the preparation and review of specifications, and contribute to proposal presentations.

• Quality Compliance: Adhere to internal quality control (QC) policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Communication: Maintain effective communication with underwriters, brokers, and team members.

• Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as directed by management.

• Professional Development: Pursue educational and technical studies necessary for career advancement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

• Valid RI P&C Brokers License.

• 2-5 years of experience with a wholesaler or broker.

• Comprehensive knowledge of all coverage lines.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to execute tasks efficiently and ensure compliance with internal QC procedures.

Required Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
